Chapter 1528: Suits you
Even if they are immune to the ravages of time and aging, they will ultimately be powerless to prevent the inevitable decay and dissolution of the cosmos around them. In such a desolate and lifeless universe devoid of any sources of energy or potential for growth, even the most resilient and long-lived beings will be unable to escape the finality of death.
"Sorry, not so sorry, bud" Rain said. "But you will fail in your task. Even without Foresight, I can tell that much about you."
Lonos couldn’t help but sigh. While a bit unconventional, he was something like a scientist. So, Lonos could accept things like that, which seemed nonsensical, as long as there was data that confirmed that. Still, there wasn’t a single sign so far that Rain could defeat him, much less surpass the level two of his Temporal attacks.
To make Rain even angrier, Lonos waited for him to heal his spine completely. He did that while watching and smiling. This time around, Rain closed his eyes in order to sharpen his instincts once more... there was no point in looking at Lonos when his attacks were that unusual, after all.
All of a sudden, Rain got punched in his chin, and then his mind blanked for a moment while his head was raised... and then he was sent downward with another attack on his face. That made him land on the ground with his face against it. When Rain tried to get up, he was hit on his back and that pushed him downward once more.
"I think this stance suits you."
Rain let out a sigh and then tried to get up again. Once more Lonos tried to hit his back and that worked, but in the last moment, Rain expanded his domain and then he felt the attack and that wasn’t all... he was also able to sense the distortion in time and space.
"A non-physical attack, huh?" Rain asked. "Do you want me to understand it completely?"
"By all means."
When Rain got up, he was punched on his left side, and then his body slid in the opposite direction before it stopped. Lonos raised his eyebrows since Rain’s head moved to the side at the last moment and rotated as well... his stance also allowed him to minimize the damage by sliding on the ground... almost as if he had predicted the attack.
"Fortus, huh? Your prediction power can’t be compared to his."
"I am not competing... for now," Rain smirked.
