Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1460: A point

Before teaching his friends how to use the Void, Rain decided to do some tests with Loar and Hardt. He needed their skills to make the others stronger as well, and he was planning to make them reach their abilities to the others, so that was a good chance to hit two birds with one stone.

They all knew the basics of space magic as well, but they couldn’t use it while they were in Rain’s pocket dimension because they needed to overpower his spell. Besides, trying that would just make him waste mana.

"Trying to make us your test subjects?" Hardt asked.

"That is right," Rain said. "Now, get a move on."

"I can’t even bring myself to be angry when you are this honest..." Hardt furrowed his eyebrows. "Anyway, it might sound convenient to say this, but you might as well let us fight more when we have access to these skills."

"When you prove yourself to survive the attacks of the enemies that I face, I will do that," Rain said. "In the meantime, I will do what I deem to be the best option."

Hardt fell silent, his thoughts churning as Rain’s words struck a chord within him. It was an uncomfortable truth, one that he couldn’t deny. Rain’s reliance on the lords of the prison had indeed been minimal, their utility limited to dealing with lesser threats while Rain himself faced off against foes of far greater danger.

In truth, Rain’s battles rarely involved skirmishes with minor adversaries. He was a warrior who thrived on facing opponents of unparalleled strength and skill, constantly seeking out challenges that would push him to his limits and force him to grow stronger with each passing encounter.

And while the lords of the prison undoubtedly possessed formidable power in their own right, their abilities were better suited to dealing with smaller threats rather than the titanic forces that Rain often found himself pitted against. In those moments of true peril, Rain had little choice but to rely on his own strength and skill, drawing upon the full extent of his abilities to overcome the challenges that lay before him.

"I will teach you guys the basics of the void aspect, but since you have high wisdom and Intelligence, you should be able to learn it faster," Rain said. "Use your skills to make that happen faster and all study what can if be done to make others learn the same process faster."

"Aren’t you doing the same thing already?" Loar asked.

"I am, but in a different way," Rain explained. "My perspective is different since I face the machine gods and endured their attacks. Your perspective s the same as the others who didn’t obtain the path yet and didn’t face those attacks."
