Chapter 36: Zyra
I left Manaia’s hut and saw Zyra sniffing around nearby, trying to hide in the bushes.
"What are you doing here, were you looking for me?" I asked, making her startle and let out a small yelp of fright. Zyra, completely embarrassed, lowered her head like a child caught doing mischief.
"I thought you’d be fucking Manaia and I came to listen in, Leader. I’m not a pervert I swear but... You waving your big cock all over the village is like parading a huge buffet in the middle of a hungry pack of wolves."
I laughed seeing her shy expression that contrasted with her usual tough, firm warrior demeanor.
"No, Zyra, I wasn’t running naked for that. Manaia’s body suffered a backlash from lack of MP, she’d spent it all healing me."
Zyra panicked.
"Are you okay? Is she okay? What’s going on? Why didn’t you say anything?!"
I grabbed her shoulders seeing her chaotic expression and her tear-filled eyes. Her concern for Manaia was clearly visible making me feel guilty.
"I’m fine, Zyra, don’t worry. Manaia just needs to rest, there’s no high-risk problem with that. She had the backlash because I was wounded in the shoulder during the fight and she tried to heal me. Thanks to her I’m healthy now and can move my arm properly. There’s nothing to worry about."
I wiped Zyra’s eyes, taking the chance to slide my hand onto her cheeks. I could feel her body tense under my touch.
