Chapter 3: The Hero’s Healing
Seeing all the goblins run, I gritted my teeth to avoid collapsing. I couldn’t let those monsters realize my weakness or they’d come devour us.
As the last goblin vanished into the jungle, the village women began to celebrate. Seeing them so happy made me smile; happiness is contagious, especially when it comes from beautiful ladies. As a true gentleman, it’s my responsibility and pride to protect them.
While they celebrated surviving this disaster, my head started to spin. For a moment I didn’t even know where I was, my body began to burn again. The adrenaline had faded, and now all the accumulated damage hit me at once, making me scream aloud: "Agggghhhh...!!" My vision blurred as I fell.
The last thing I could hear was how the shouts of celebration transformed into screams of terror as I lost all strength in my body.
"They’re worried about me... How nice..."
Those were my last thoughts before everything went silent.
---Manaia’s Point of View---
"Our savior!"
While I was still stunned watching the orc that had been tormenting us drop dead, I heard Leila’s cry. She was running desperately towards the strange outsider we’d found.
The twins and the rest of the village women also ran, shouting as they realized what was happening. Never in my life had I seen them so desperate. "Tch... none of them know medicine and they just squawk like headless chickens," I thought. "Damn, what am I thinking! I need to hurry and save him."
