Chapter 28: Deserved Punishment
’’We’re getting close.’’
Amari smells the familiar scent of both Nana and her kidnaper; they pick up their pace to reach them as soon as possible. Meanwhile Nana is exhausted, and her neck and arms are bruised from being tied up to the guillotine.
’’They’re close.’’
Nana attempts to shout but she ends up coughing which causes Lewis to give a crooked smile.
Amari sees the roof of the white building peeking through the forest trees from afar. The memories of him being a prisoner came back to him, the cries of the other children, the torture he endured for all those years, they all came back crawling in his mind.
Him going back to that place made him feel like one of the slaves again. He feels an uncomfortable connection with the place as he keeps being forced to go back to it.
When the building is fully in sight, they see the man dressed in all black sitting on a chair staring in their direction with eyes filled with hatred. Suddenly a dark cloud overcomes the sky and covers the sunlight. The moment they see Nana he immediately dashes in full speed to them; Lewis realizes that they’re attack and calmly stands up.
’’You’ve finally made it! I hope my wait will be rewarded with your head.’’
’’Let my Nana go you BASTARD!’’
Apollo run with the intent to strike him with a punch but quickly pulls his collar to stop him.
