Chapter 30: Art of Seduction
Elio watched Versei who was grovelling at his feet with an amused smirk on his face.
He had thought that perhaps the man had some trump cards up his sleeve, yet it seemed like there was none.
The man had probably thought being one of Lord Hako’s over 400 son-in-laws would deter Elio from smacking the shit out of him.
It was a good thing that now the fool had realized his mistake. However, that didn’t mean Elio was just going to forgive him.
The man wasn’t apologizing because he felt remorse. He was doing it out of survival instinct. Elio didn’t need such an apology.
He pulled Mareen closer to him, fished two chicken nuggets from the McLonald’s bucket she was holding and threw them on the ground.
"You’ve been eyeing them like you wanted some," he said, turning his back on Versei. "Eat them. They might be your last. Take him into the dungeon. That should put some sense into him. Only then shall I deal with him."
Those last three sentences were directed at General Maldor.
Hearing them, Master Versei got hysterical. Elio could sense despair in his words as he grabbed Elio’s leg and started pleading, "My King, please forgive me! You will have my undying support. I will rally all the lords behind you. No more will they talk of marriage proposals."
Elio looked down on him disdainfully. With a chuckle, he said, "You still think you’re that important, don’t you? Haha! I don’t need your so-called undying support to have the lords behind me. General, I said to throw him in the dungeon."
"Of course, Your Grace!"
