A tiny rock was shattered in Gu Xijiu’s tight grip; a sharp corner of the rock had cut her hand in the process, and blood was oozing out from the wound. The bloody scene surprised Yun Yanli. "What is wrong?"
Gu Xijiu dismissed his concern and threw away the pieces. "I am fine." Utterly confused, Gu Xijiu chose to take Yun Yanli’s words with caution. In fact, she did not quite believe what he said at that point. After all, the two had just met.
The man seemed genuinely concerned about her, but she still could not tell if he was someone to be trusted. What if he made it all up just to trick her?
Yun Yanli tried to hold her hand to comfort her, but she intuitively avoided his hand. Hesitantly, Yun Yanli looked at her in bewilderment. "Xijiu, don’t you trust me?"
Gu Xijiu hesitated but chose not to lie. "You are right."
