Chapter 173: His Name
Lilia’s body trembled as her legs gave way beneath her. Though she moved almost instinctively, Zethan was already at her side, catching her effortlessly in his arms. His voice, laced with concern yet tenderness, whispered,
"Are you okay, wife?" He looked worried as he searched Lilia’s face.
Lilia nodded, her eyes unblinking, fixed on him—afraid that if she blinked, he might disappear. She feared it was a dream, but the way her heart reacted, the warmth of his hands—it was all too real. Her gaze remained on him, eyes glistening with tears that began to fall softly. A slow, gentle smile curled on Zethan’s lips as he held her closer, hugging her tightly.
Feeling the warmth of Zethan Lyall—her husband—wrapped around her, Lilia’s hands instinctively rose to cradle his neck. She pressed her face against him, breathing him in, desperate to feel and sense all the things she had missed so much.
Her voice, barely above a whisper, trembled with disbelief and relief.
"You’re here... you’re really here. Why did you come here? How did you...?"
Zethan’s hold tightened as he spoke quietly, his voice steady and sure,
"I told you, I’ll always be with you. That’s a promise I intend to keep, my wife."
His warm breath fanned her ear, and her body tingled with unfamiliar emotions.
This man really did make his own rules—just like he had told her. He hadn’t been joking at all she could finally tell.
Before she knew it, Zethan carried her to the bed. She allowed him to gently lay her down on the large mattress. He climbed in beside her, pulling her close. She lay on top of him, cradling him as she pressed her face into his neck once more, inhaling his scent—this maddening scent she had missed so much. Pressing her lips to his neck, she sucked softly, overwhelmed by the reality of him.
