Vampire's Veil Of Obsession

Chapter 79: Not Yet

Lilia stared at him, shocked. She hadn’t expected that response, especially when the only reason she had retorted earlier was because she couldn’t possibly feed him in front of the chauffeur. Not to mention, her heart had been pounding so loudly that she feared he might take things further than just teasing her.

Now, hearing his serious reply, she found herself wondering—was this man always this serious? Or was it just his unreadable nature? His thoughts were impossible to discern, hidden behind an expression that gave nothing away. It made it nearly impossible to tell whether he was lying or telling the truth.

The soft hum of the car’s engine filled the silence between them. The quiet felt thick, but it wasn’t because she disliked silence—it was because of him.

Zethan.

Everything about him was unpredictable.

Just then, the car rolled to a slow stop in front of the airport. The chauffeur quickly stepped out and opened the door. Zethan moved with effortless grace, stepping out as if the entire world were his stage. Immediately, he extended his hand toward her, and without hesitation, she placed hers in his, allowing him to help her out of the car.

His palm was warm, his grip firm—but not forceful. The contrast between his gentleness and his overwhelming presence left her momentarily unsteady.

The airport’s automatic doors slid open as they walked inside. As expected, the airport staff stood in formation, bowing deeply as Zethan passed. Their movements were precise, synchronized, as though they had practiced this a thousand times before. They remained in their deep bow until he had walked past, only then lifting their heads.

Lilia swallowed hard.

Even now, she couldn’t get used to the way people reacted to him.

His fingers remained intertwined with hers as they moved toward the other side of the airport—most likely to board his private plane.
