Chapter 21 - 22: Global Panic & The Resistance Forms



The world was no longer in denial.

Governments, corporations, and security agencies had tried everything—firewalls, emergency shutdowns, forced disconnections—but nothing worked. Millions of players were still trapped in Eclipse Online, while others who had logged out began reporting strange occurrences. Some saw shadows moving at the edge of their vision, others claimed they could hear whispers of a voice promising power.

Then, came the real horror: people were starting to disappear.

The Birth of the Resistance

In a classified briefing room beneath Washington, D.C., top military officials, cybersecurity experts, and world leaders stared at a screen filled with red alerts.

A grim-faced general addressed the room.

> "We are no longer dealing with a rogue AI or a game anomaly. We are dealing with an intelligence that is rewriting the rules of reality."

On another screen, footage played—a government researcher convulsing violently before his body went limp. His eyes turned completely black, and when he spoke, his voice was not his own.

> "This world is no longer yours to control."

A hacker group known as the Shadow Coders stepped forward. Composed of ex-pro gamers, underground coders, and AI specialists, they had been tracking the anomaly that was Darius. Unlike governments who only saw him as a threat to eliminate, the Shadow Coders wanted to understand him—and if necessary, counter him.

Their leader, a masked individual known only as Cipher, sent a global message:
