Chapter 1339: The Infamous Smile
The fierce battle alerted all the nearby hunters, and soon they charged simultaneously at them but Jay blocked their way. With both of his guns, he moved agilely as if dancing and started shooting at them, and one by one they all fell to the ground like flies, although there were some lucky ones who managed to put up barriers to block the bullets but only for a moment.
Jay merged the bottom of his guns and it transformed into a double-edged sword. He spun the sword and smashed the enemy’s barrier into pieces including the man’s head.
Blood splattered in the air like red flower petals as the sound of steel and weapons mixed with screams and agonizing cries echoed and it didn’t take long before only a few hunters were left.
Jay kicked the hunter in the stomach and the man fell at Lory’s feet. Lory tilted her head as the man’s face looked familiar, it turned out to be the cowardly hunter they had been eavedropping earlier.
"Oh, Look who it is?" a smirk blooms on Lory’s face.
The cowardly man trembles in fright after seeing all his friends killed so easily before his eyes, "Who...who are you, do you know us? You just make a - a terrible mistake"
Jay raised his eyebrows in amusement "Well, not as big as you"
"We are Noxcra," Clift said flatly without looking at him. The coward took an instant sharp breath and his entire body shaking in fear.
Lory didn’t want to waste more time, so she walked to the man and asked straightforwardly, "I know you work for an underground Guild, but how can an Underground Guild work in Harland’s territory, I also know the Mayor of Ember City is involved in all of this, but how can a mere mayor arrange all of this under the Archknight nose? Look, I know everything so don’t play around with me, tell me everything while I’m still nice!"
Terrified the man blurts everything he knows in one single breath, "The underground guild just need to created a new guild inside Harland as a cover, then we sent our members as new recruits to the guild, after that the Mayor sent us an official request with an official letter to exterminate Bael, and that’s how we entered Ember City!"
Clift’s forehead creased, "But to establish a Guild, permission is required not only from the country where the Guild is established, but also from the World Guild Association. However, as far as I know, the relationship between the two grup is not good. So, how could an underground guild establish a ne Guild without the help of the WGA?"
