The dragon's harem

Chapter 2280: Where Did Death Herself Go?

"To think you bastard showed up." One of the two avatars growled, and the second one stood right behind Gojo as they got ready to pincer him. In the back, Amaterasu had flew down to Eris’s Gravastar, and Yog had taken commands of the angel armies.

Gojo laughed with a smug grin on his face, and threw his fur coat and stored it inside his stomach. "Of course I’d show up." He cracked his knuckles and then disappeared.

As the avatar trued to back away, Gojo grabbed him by the chest and punched him in the face, sending him flying back as he dodged a swarm of tentacles from the second Avatar, and immediately teleported up into the void with a Void Step. He pointed two fingers down and fired a devastating beam of light.

One of the avatars conjured a massive tentacle form underneath his yellow raincoat and swatted the beam aside, deflecting it away at the distant horizon where it exploded into a titanic mushroom cloud.

"You’ll kill the angels fighting below." The Avatar laughed, and Gojo appeared behind him with a clenched fist. "Fuck them!"

This time, the Avatar dodged Gojo’s punch with a simple sidestep, and the second Avatar wrapped his tentacles around Gojo to bind him down. "You don’t care about collateral damage?" And in less than a fraction of a second, millions of tentacles descended on Gojo like a rain of whips.

Gojo’s body got torn apart; it turned into a crumbling stone doll, and at that moment, the two Avatars knew that they had been played.

Over fifty Gojo clones surrounded the two Avatars, and it was nearly impossible to tell the difference between them. Without saying a word, the fight kept going as all fifty clones charged at the Avatars, and every one of them attacked in a different way.

One clone used the Dimensional Blade, one cast fire magic, another moved with a body engulfed in lightning, and one had even turned into a black mist of pure nothingness.

To deal with all of Gojo’s clones, the two Avatars had to deal with fifty different types of magic all at once, and many of those spells overlapped. One of the clones used time magic to slow time, and another used time magic to accelerate time for Gojo himself, which made it extremely hard to catch any of the fifty clones, let alone hit them.

It looked as if Gojo was lagging badly in a game, and just to make it worse, he still hit like a nuke, each of his fists carrying enough firepower to evaporate a whole island with a light tap.

Yog, who commanded the armies, watched from above, and she was worried. Even if Gojo was powerful, and even if he had just received two stars from Amaterasu, a Black Hole and a White Hole, that alone wouldn’t help him defeat two Avatars at once. If this fight kept going, 90% of the time, Gojo would lose.

She had to figure out a way out of this situation before that, and the first step toward that was to get Amaterasu working. "Can you help Eris and Sena finish that Gravastar and lock Vorvadoss up? If they get out safely, then we’re pretty much saved."

Amaterasu crossed her arms and looked at the forming Gravastar. "No, not really. I can’t interfere now, or the balance would shatter. Eris and Sena would be safe, but the implosion would hurt Luminous and Linda, even if they are hopping through time."

She looked more closely at the forming Gravastar. "The best I can do for them is to provide as much divine magic as possible so Eris won’t fail."

She then looked at two of her personal archons. "You two go help Gojo, and make sure he doesn’t die or get hurt. Also, follow all of his orders." Given how urgent the situation was, the two archons didn’t even bother bowing and instead just flew toward Gojo as fast as they could.

With that sorted out, Amaterasu needed to know where did Death Herself go. There are five Avatars: two are facing Gojo, one is fighting Azrael, one is fighting Kayden, and the last one is leading the abomination army.

There was only one option left; she went inside the Gravastar to fight Vorvadoss. But still, how did she manage to slip past the forming shell without shattering it? It didn’t take Amaterasu long to figure out how.

Death Herself must’ve jumped into the shadow realm and then emerged from Linda’s body inside the Gravastar. That is the easiest and quickest way for her to get inside without interfering with the Gravastar’s formation, and to confirm that, Amaterasu looked into the Gravastar’s interior through Eris’s eyes.

What she could see was amazing. Luminous, wearing Linda like a tight bodysuit of shadows, was fighting Vorvadoss with Death Herself, and the two of them were quite in sync. Or at least, that’s what it looked like. In terms of combat experience, Death Herself far outclassed Luminous and was the one taking the lead.

But what was more impressive was that Vorvadoss was able to match them both at once. The bastard was fast, ruthless, quick to react, and seemed to have far more experience than those two combined.

That wasn’t as strange as it looked, since Vorvadoss was far older than anyone here besides Amaterasu herself, and had the power and experience to match. He had even faced AO’s before when Nyar first betrayed AO.

You can’t expect Luminous and Death Herself to match a monster who fought prime AO, even if that monster was now weakened, and even if AO violated him in that past fight.

^Eris, do you hear me?^ Amaterasu’s voice boomed into Eris’s head, and she got a growl back. ^What? I’m trying to focus.^ Sena’s voice also growled immediately. ^We’re busy here.^

^I’ll give you a burst of Cursed Magic, so try to release the entire army of murder. As powerful as Death Herself and Luminous are, the two of them can’t hope to deal with Vorvadoss while protecting you. That army won’t be able to change much, but they’ll at least distract Vorvadoss a bit.^

^Really... I really can’t spare any of my attention now.^ Just trying to maintain the balance between gravity crushing the star’s shell and the expanding energy of the crushed core was taking up all of Eris’s mental power.

^The first rule of the army is don’t complain and make it happen. If everything fails, blame it on your superior; you’re just following orders. Also, Death Herself would lead the army of the dead, so you won’t need to command them after summoning.^

^Got it.^ Eris growled, and Amaterasu immediately sent her a flood of both Divine and Cursed magic.

On the other side, Yog had helped Merlin teleport to her, and the two of them had taken command of the army. Yog herself handled the angels and direct military command, while Merlin herself was assigned to lead the newly summoned void dragons.

Merlin’s job was simple. Build temporary bases, have the void dragons swallow those bases, and mobilize them as supply points for the army.
