Chapter 928: Volume 29 Remote Sword Qi, - 22 Each Flies on Their Own
Gazing at the United Army that had begun to fall into chaos, Komer’s lips curved into a satisfied smile. It was time. The magic attack power of the Light Mages was greatly weakened, as was the strength of the knights. The withdrawal of the Thunderhorse Knights had also considerably dampened the fighting spirit of the soldiers in the United Army. Compared to the dogged resistance on the Homer side, the will of the mortal soldiers in the United Army was distinctly weaker, especially apparent in this adverse battlefield.
Fran had also noticed this subtle change. He was surprised as to why the Thunderhorse Knights had exited the battlefield, but he couldn’t let this rare opportunity slip away; it was time to deploy decisive power. As the battle flag waved, the remaining twelve Thunder Pengs swept in from both flanks. Concerned about being detected by the enemy, he had not deployed all the Thunder Pengs in the first wave of surprise attacks against the mages, but now there was no longer any need for secrecy. It was most important to crush the will of the United Army and destroy their desire to fight.
This was not the most crucial move yet; accompanied by the low wailing of the Horned Horn, the entire Homer Camp began to exhibit some bizarre changes. The Army of Homer started to retreat while simultaneously splitting open, suddenly revealing several large passages. The soldiers of the United Army hadn’t even fully grasped what was happening.
Accompanied by a dull roar, three Earthwalking Dragons appeared at the vanguard of a triangular assault formation right before the eyes of the United Army soldiers. The dragons, over four meters tall, shone resplendently in the sunshine with their thick, fine scales. Mounted on the dragons were Earth Dragon Warriors holding five-meter-long Dragon Spears, completely encased in heavy armor that even covered their faces with beast-shaped masks. Urged by the warriors on their backs, the Earthwalking Dragons began to quicken their pace, charging headlong into the United Army camp without hesitation.
The majority of the United Army soldiers, who were witnessing such a terrifying scene for the first time, were utterly petrified. Imagine a huge beast akin to a small hill charging towards you, its massive dragon feet stamping the ground and leaving basin-sized footprints with each step, causing the entire ground to tremble as if it were quaking. The coarse roars of the dragons echoed across the plains, and atop these dragons were the menacing Dragon Warriors, ever ready to deliver a fatal blow to anyone who might luckily escape being trampled.
Hardly any additional push was needed before the United Army camp began to collapse. The turn and run of the Noble private soldiers had a terribly bad example effect; the pounce of the Thunder Pengs from the flanks had already frightened them, and the appearance of the Earthwalking Dragons added the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
