Chapter 918: Volume 29, Remote Pointing of Sword Qi, - 12: Immense Pressure
Kent’s face was also a picture of solemnity, "Those who dare to challenge the God of Light shall face destruction."
"Sir Kent, presumably you are aware that Mr. Komer is not as simple as we imagined. I have heard that the Thunderhorse Knights have had encounters with him as well," Trajan said, his eyes probing.
"Hmm, several years ago when I led a number of Thunderhorse Knights on a mission, we came across an Undead Mage. However, the opponent was cunning and eluded our search. We suspect this Undead Mage is Komer, but we do not have solid evidence. The Thunderhorse Knights conducted a very discreet reconnaissance in the Caucasus and, although they found his relationship with the Dark Forces to be ambiguous, they did not uncover any conclusive evidence," said Kent, without any attempt to conceal, as there was nothing worth hiding.
"The cause of Magician Malone’s death has never been thoroughly investigated. Assassinations in a forbidden place like Versailles are truly unacceptable. However, we have reason to believe that Malone’s death is related to Komer," said Trajan, who had already reviewed in detail all intelligence concerning Komer after the fact. "This man’s identity and role are quite enigmatic, not only does he possess the ability to cast Mixed Magic, but he also excels in some insidious methods, such as Malone’s death being due to a Magic Crossbow Arrow."
"Oh?" This was the first Kent had heard of it, and it sent a chill through his heart. It seemed rare to see real powerhouses who were skilled in both magic and martial arts, yet Komer’s performance was not inferior to that of a true powerhouse.
"In dealing with such a person, we cannot stick rigidly to the knight’s code of conduct, especially when we face a real war. We cannot be restricted by some trifling rules," said Trajan meditatively.
Kent knew this was Trajan reminding him. His uncompromising and rigid character was well-known within the Church of Light, but facing the final battle between light and darkness, would he still maintain his rigidity?
Taking a deep breath, Kent nodded firmly, "Thank you for your kind reminder, Sir Trajan. As a Demon Exterminating Light Knight, I am bound by duty. As for the means, I know my limits."
