The Vastness of Magical Destiny

Chapter 917: Volume 29, Remote Sword Qi, - 11, Hand in Hand

The guard rushed over, giving Komer a bad feeling. When the letter in the guard’s hand was handed to Komer, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself, "Who would be sending a letter at this time?"

The elegant handwriting on the letter seemed familiar, and Komer immediately recognized it as Renta’s. His confusion grew; was there an urgent situation in Poznan that compelled Renta to send a message from so far away?

Komer skimmed through the letter and his expression turned much more serious. Fran sensed the change in his master’s mood; it must be some troubling news that had caused such a transformation in Komer, yet it was unclear what the situation was.

Taking a deep breath to calm his emotions, Komer realized the complexity of the situation. The information the Anson family had received must have been quite accurate. Katya and Hoffman had met quietly with representatives from Galle and Silesia in Godeburg. What this meant was clear to anyone with eyes; the worst-case scenario had finally unfolded. The Romanov family could no longer restrain themselves and had decided to align against Komer. Thus, it meant he had to consider the involvement of not only the Blue Dove Corps but also the Golden Oak Legion. With Galle’s inherent military power, the previously one-sided war scales were starting to tip quietly in the enemy’s favor.

Fran took the letter from Komer’s hands, frowning slightly. The participation of the Blue Dove Corps and the Golden Oak Legion wouldn’t change the fundamental situation of the war. Fran didn’t think the entry of these two corps could reverse the situation, but it was indeed an ominous sign.

"Fran, it seems that ’the tree wants to stay still but the wind keeps blowing’. The characters of the Romanov family have finally grown tired of staying out of the limelight. What do they want to do? Do they want to help the Galleians defeat us so they can carve a piece for themselves, or do they dream of restoring the past glory of their Romanov family?"

"Perhaps both, but they are underestimating us and oversimplifying the Galleians. No matter who wins the war, one thing is certain: the Romanov family won’t be able to return to what they were, because once the foundation is lost, the building above will not stand," Fran shook his head. "If I were Hoffman, I wouldn’t get involved, at least not so blatantly. He overestimates the power of the Galleians."

"This is a wake-up call for us. Perhaps there are many more jesters ready to jump out," Komer said coldly.

"Does the Lord refer to those fellows from the Church of Light? The Court? Or the people from the Vazinsky Clan?" Fran nodded.

"Hmm, we can’t underestimate our opponents. Like a cornered dog, they might band together by any means necessary," Komer lowered his head, pondering for a moment before speaking, "Perhaps it’s time we also lay out a new plan properly. It would be a colossal joke to be capsized in a gutter."
