The Vastness of Magical Destiny

The man before her seemed to give Eve an overwhelming sense of mystery, and this feeling seemed to be growing stronger. He and the Mage named Lome certainly did not fit the description of fresh-faced novices that Grace had mentioned. Although both men were about her own age, the poise and confidence exuded by the man before her were not something a newcomer could exhibit.

Regardless of the man’s identity, Eve was certain of one thing: it appeared he had no ill intentions—especially his united front against the Assassins, which touched Eve deeply. If he had any ulterior motives, they had likely already been accomplished. They just needed to let their guard down slightly, and it seemed that none of her companions would have survived that battle.

While Eve was lost in her thoughts, Komer had already firmly focused his attention on Grace’s torso. With a thought, the Cosmic Bag magnified out of thin air. He skillfully pulled out a Jade Box from the Cosmic Bag, ignoring Eve’s surprised expression. Komer took out several slender Silver_Needles from the box, bent down, and observed Grace’s body with his face nearly close to hers.

Feeling the breath of her companion on her body caused Grace to shudder lightly once again. Such a posture was simply too uncomfortable to accept. Even for lovers, it would be highly unlikely to engage in such behavior with both Eve and Lome present. Shame and embarrassment like never before swelled within Grace’s heart.

With an intense gaze searching over Grace, Komer’s fingers suddenly danced nimbly, and the Silver_Needles were rapidly inserted in a single breath. These brief movements had caused fine sweat to appear on Komer’s forehead. The Silver_Needles were inserted below Grace’s chest, lower abdomen, and below her thighs. The needles were peculiar in shape, with swollen, cylindrical transparent tops, and the lower parts seemed to be hollow, forming what appeared to be a suction apparatus when joined together.

"Uh, Komer, what is this?" Eve’s interest in Komer’s every move grew, discovering that there were too many astonishing things about him. Aside from his mastery in healing magic, he now also possessed medical-like skills. Eve wondered what other surprises he would bring her in the future.

"Hmm, this is a technique I’ve designed myself, which can absorb the magic power applied to Grace. This will prevent the poison from spreading too quickly," Komer said with a slight smile. "I initially wanted to try it on Burianos first, but I didn’t expect to use it on Grace. Let’s see how it works. I hope it doesn’t disappoint me."

Magic fluctuations soon appeared in the transparent part of the Silver_Needles, and Komer smiled with satisfaction, pointing it out to the two women, "Look, this is the water-element magic power being extracted. With the catalyst for the poison’s rate of expansion neutralized, it can only rely on its own toxicity to penetrate. Now Grace’s condition should stabilize, and the next step is to figure out how to eliminate these toxins."
