Transmigrated Into The True Heiress

Chapter 95: Needle Sting

Lyle didn’t say a word at first. His gaze remained locked on hers, his body still and unreadable despite the closeness between them. The heat of his presence sent a shiver down Eira’s spine.

Eira’s eyes darted around, finally landing on his chest, realizing just how close they were. Her mind snapped back into focus as she pushed him away hastily, taking a step back to create some much-needed space.

"Sorry," she said quickly, folding her arms over her chest in an attempt to seem composed.

"It’s okay," Lyle replied smoothly, slipping his hands into his pockets. "But what were you doing here? Did you want to see me?"

Eira hesitated, trying to sound casual. "I just wanted to check if you were back to normal, and... well, it seems like you are."

Lyle studied her for a moment, his piercing violet eyes unwavering. "Doctor Liam told me something interesting. He said my switching to another personality is always connected to you. Specifically, whenever I sense you’re in danger."

Eira blinked, her expression softening as understanding dawned. "Oh, that explains it. When did he tell you this?" she questioned, though she didn’t fully understand how he could know when she was in danger.

"Before my last visit to him." Lyle paused, his gaze steady on hers. "But is that the only reason you came to see me?"

Eira faltered, her tongue tying itself into knots. "I... I mean, uh... Do you remember what happened last night? Everything you said?"
