Chapter 22: Moving in
Kai first went to Carl’s home, getting him, Martha, his mother, and his sister as they all sat in the living room.
"Kai!" Erika stormed over to him and grabbed his ear.
"Ow, ow ow! Mom, what’s wrong?"
"When were you going to tell me you got a girl pregnant? You plan on marrying this girl, right? Didn’t I tell you to wait for marriage before having children?"
"M-Mother-in-law, it’s okay. Kai promised to take care of me." Martha was quick to defend her lover, but she was clearly embarrassed.
Erika sighed, "He better. I raised him properly after all."
"Wow, I can’t believe my little brother is starting a family before I am. Maybe I need to step it up." Varina laughed.
"You should have been married by now. When I was your age, I already had both you and your brother."
"Mom, I’m only 22."
"I was 16 when I had you and 20 when I had Kai. You have no excuse."
After chatting for a bit longer, Kai told them that he had bought the house and told Carl and Martha to pack their things.
