Chapter 497: He Protects Her
The recent incident had left Shen Heyu greatly shaken. After leaving the presidential suite, she felt her heart beating faster and faster, as if it was about to leap out of her chest.
She walked to the elevator and pressed the button, her mind drifting back to what had just happened. Just then, the elevator doors slowly opened, and Pei Yansi walked out.
Pei Yansi, seeing Shen Heyu’s distraught appearance, worriedly grabbed her shoulders. After thoroughly checking, he found that Shen Heyu was not injured.
"What happened, Shen Heyu?"
Hearing her name called jolted Shen Heyu back to reality. She looked up at Pei Yansi, who was looking at her with concern.
"Pei Yansi," Shen Heyu called out his name faintly.
"I’m here."
"At the hotel, a woman fell to her death. She jumped from the presidential suite where Lu Yi was staying." When Pei Yansi first heard that a woman had jumped from the presidential suite booked by Lu Yi, he thought it was Shen Heyu, and he almost blacked out.
Shen Heyu nodded.
"You look like you need to rest. Let me take you home to rest," Pei Yansi said, seeing the paleness of Shen Heyu’s face; his heart felt as if it was being tightly clenched.
Shen Heyu nodded again. Just as she was about to step into the elevator with Pei Yansi, everything went dark before her eyes, and she felt the world spinning around her.
Shen Heyu passed out, and Pei Yansi caught her in one arm, seeing her weak state. He felt as if the air in his chest was being sucked out, leaving him breathless.
