"You will understand why once you are there." Assistant Yao didn’t think that explaining would get him anywhere, so he just left the topic alone. He had to do what he had planned anyway.
He was going to follow his boss on a mission soon and didn’t know what would happen while he was away. He had to let his mother understand that the world had changed before he left. He didn’t want any accidents while he was away.
Yao’s mother, seeing that she couldn’t argue with her son, just gave up and decided to fulfill his request. She wanted to see what he wanted to show her so badly.
Since Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had decided to take a break that day, they didn’t practise even when they went back to their apartment. It was a new concept to them since they had been working hard nonstop since the apocalypse started.
They had been so goal oriented in getting stronger that at this moment that they were sitting down, they realized that they could not live their lives like that even if it was the end of the world.
Everything was passing them by while they used all their time to work hard and become stronger. They had not thought about balancing their training and rest with a dose of leisure.
The only break they took to enjoy each other’s company since they got married was when they were in bed, and in most cases they would either sleep or make love. Making it impossible to even get to know each other better.
The only thing they had been talking about since they got married was the apocalypse, and then there was training and collecting more supplies to survive the apocalypse.
As Leng Pan laid on her husband’s chest, she thought about the reason she had decided to marry Lu Zhen. Although it had been an impulsive decision, it was not based on his ability to protect her in the apocalypse.
She had the ability to do that on her own. She had wanted to marry him because she had already fallen in love with him and wanted him to be protected in their relationship, especially because she knew that he had insecurities about her.
