Chapter 300: Build Up
Blaze’s pov
I let out a grimace, not looking forward to what’s coming in any way. We were currently standing outside the demon clan and I already felt like something might end up going wrong today. My mate was currently present, Roy and Kim were here as well, and my sister had just came out to usher us in.
I let out a grimace again before sighing. "You’re all to stay out of harm’s way no matter what, we’re here today to take down a tyrant, i don’t expect to lose any of you today."
"Including me? Or you don’t care if I die?" A voice spoke and I tore my face off my mate’s face to focus on the voice and I realized it was Kim. I let out a snort while staring at him.
Kim and I never had a smooth relationship and that was because after he dared messing with me, I made sure he thoroughly suffered for that and also to never forget that. Him turning out to be my mate’s half brother was the last twist I expected to come out of him.
"Of course I don’t want you to die either." I finally responded and I meant those words. My mate thoroughly explained to me that Kim was one of the people that helped him when he was at his lowest and needed all the emotional support he could get.
Kim flashed me a grin that proved that he didn’t believe me, but I wasn’t sure I cared enough to pursue that right now. My eyes refocused on my mate once again and I felt my breath stumble a little in my chest at how unreal my mate looked. I wasn’t sure id ever fully get used to how ethereal he looked, with his white hair framing his face and his blue eyes threatening to undo me right now.
"Let’s get on with it now. Remember, we’re doing this in the morning and not at night time because that’s around when demons get really powerful. The king might try to stall you till then but let’s hope we get to bring him down before then." My sister began to explain and I nodded grimly in understanding. Today, I didn’t plan on switching to my full demon form, and I hoped I wouldn’t have to.
"Before we go in, let me clarify again, I’ll be doing this on my own. I don’t want help from either of you in the middle of the fight, you’re to stay out of it no matter what." I said, making sure my voice was very firm and serious and I looked between my mate and sister as I spoke.
My sister gave me tense nod but my mate only shrugged, a clear indication that he wasn’t listening.
"Labyrinth, I’m serious. If you do that, you’ll automatically get entered into the fight and you won’t be able to back out unless you drop dead. And situations like this never ends well because i can already picture my stupid uncle leaving me and fully focusing his attack on you, then instead of me to be fighting him, i’ll have to spend the time in there covering and trying to defend you from his attacks." I took his hand as I spoke.
