Chapter 197: Morning After
Jules’ pov
When I blinked my eyes open, I realized that it had all been a dream.
I was breathing hard and sweat was rolling off my skin like I just escaped a downpour of rain. I blinked a few times and tried to get my brain to start functioning, but my brain still felt like it was lagging.
I took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly, and then I let my eyes dart around the entire atmosphere. My eyes zeroed in on the plainness of the white colored room, briefly pausing on the fancy lights positioned in different spots on the roof, before darting sideways and pausing on a set of beautiful, dark curtains which were drawn up.
I let my eyes wandered over the walls, over littered clothes on the ground which made me pause for a few heartbeat and finally, my eyes settled in the spot beside me.
Blaze had a peaceful expression across his face as he slept, his dark hair fanned over his forehead and his mouth was slightly parted with each light inhale and exhale. He was laying on his chest and had his arms folded underneath his head.
Everything that happened began to slowly return to me bits by bits. The dinner, the car ride, the thing that happened in it, arriving her at the penthouse, all that happened after it, all the way to the point where he marked me.
A shiver ran down my spine and I found myself exhaling slowly as I tentatively reached for the side of my throat, wanting to feel the bite with my fingers. Now that I was thinking about it, it’s all I care about.
As soon as my fingers came in contact with the bite, a small gasp caught in my throat. The bite felt raw and sensitive, and I winced a little before pulling away. The bite had felt like two marks got drawn into my skin, and I couldn’t wait to see what it looked like.
