Chapter 108: You Miscalculated
"The hell?" He growled and I tried not to flinch from fear. He was standing so close to me that his scent was filling up every inch of my lungs and I hated that so much. His scent was the last scent I wanted to bask in right now.
"But it’s the truth." I continued after swallowing emptily. My heart was pounding against my ribs as I watched the anger in his face multiple in volumes.
"Y- you won’t hurt me, Xander." I forced out through the lump currently stuck in my throat.
"What makes you think so? Huh?" He demanded before dissolving into laughter.
"Because of Blaze." I blurted out, heart racing as I watched the smile slowly drain out of his face. His face was almost emotionless as he regarded me and it urged me to continue.
"That’s the truth, right?" I paused for a moment and tried to suck in a deep breath.
"You aren’t gonna hurt me, because of Blaze. You’re only doing this to scare m- me." My voice wobbled at the last word before an amused look settled across his face as he stared at me for a few moments before shaking his head and snorting out a laugh.
