Chapter 75: Hillstone Nightclub
As I tentatively stepped out of the car, I was on high alert as my gaze darted around, zeroing in on a bunch of luxurious cars. A few men dressed in poise, matching uniform were all walking around, and one of them stepped towards the other side of the range rover and accepted the car keys from the principal, right before he drove it away.
"I thought you said we were going to a nearby restaurant?" I asked before I could second guess myself. Kim grimaced and I watched as the principal shrugged a little.
"Relax, McCarthy. This isn’t all that far either, is it? I believe we’d have more privacy here compared to a restaurant." He revealed and I felt my gaze narrow almost immediately. On a normal day, I might have believed him. But I could feel that something was undoubtedly wrong.
And so I cleared my throat and let my gaze wander around once again.
"What do we want to discuss? Can you just tell me here?" I asked, biting at the inside of my mouth. Kim, who had been silent, let out a long sigh after the principal gave him a flat look.
"Let’s just go in and have this conversation, okay darling?" He proposed, voice inviting and I shook my head, taking a step back. He reached for my shoulders but I took another step back, heart racing.
"I- I’m sorry but I’d prefer we have the conversation out here." I announced and the principal cocked his head sideways.
"Any reason why? We’re here already, after all." He reminded me, waving around for emphasis. I swallowed emptily, hating that I was always in uncomfortable situations every damn time.
"I just don’t feel comfortable going into a nightclub with you, sir. Isn’t that... inappropriate?" I blurted out, watching as a vein in his forehead throbbed while he kept silently regarding me. He ended up huffing out a crackle before pointing at Kim.
"Kim’s presence here makes it appropriate for you." He explained and this time, I scoffed underneath my breath.
"But I don’t feel comfortable. I’d like to go back, please." I breathed out, heart pounding against my sides. Kim was massaging his forehead, a sour, almost frustrated look over his gorgeous face.
