Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 1355 - 625: Capture (Part 2)

Gor Neville replied, "Anty Doherty won't work; she doesn't know the robbers who are supposed to meet us."

Moreover, I've arranged to call the contacts periodically."

If I don't contact them on time, they won't approach the cruise ship at all, and you won't catch them."

Luke shook his head, "I know what you're trying to say, but don't try to bargain with me—I've already given you a chance."

If you don't comply in five minutes, I'll take other actions."

Even if we don't catch the robbers, let the Mexican police worry about it; I don't care at all."

But you should prepare to clean up your act and stay in prison for life."

I'll help you choose the most 'comfortable' prison."

Enjoy it."

Gor Neville gritted his teeth, "You bastard, where did you come from?"

I've been watching the ship's radar, and no one or boat has approached the cruise ship—how did you board it?"

Trying to figure out his situation, Luke naturally wouldn't reveal his secrets, glancing at his watch, "You have three minutes... two minutes..."

One minute..."

"Wait!" Gor Neville stopped Luke from leaving, clutching his right arm, "I've lost a lot of blood, help me with the gunshot wound first."

Luke took out a walkie-talkie and said, "Call the ship's doctor over."

"Received."

Luke looked at Gor Neville and asked, "How many boats are involved in the meet, and where is the rendezvous point?"

I need to know the color, size, number of people, and weapon configuration of the boat, the more detailed, the better."

Gor Neville sighed and slowly said, "There's only one boat, five people, they're driving a blue speedboat, weapons are rifles and grenades..."

After getting the information he wanted from Gor Neville, Luke returned to the cockpit.

The first officer asked, "Sir, shouldn't we have the cruise ship return to its proper sailing course."

I heard the robbers contact their partners; someone will meet them near the Mexican coast."

If we continue sailing, we might encounter his partners."

"I know, I've already contacted the Navy SEALs, they'll ensure the security of the cruise ship."

No need to change the course, continue sailing as the robbers requested."

Hearing the term Navy SEALs, the first officer visibly relaxed, "I understand."

Then, Luke used a satellite phone to contact the FBI director and the Navy SEALs leader and informed them of his capture plan.

Aysha Gard was delighted to find out that Luke regained control of the cockpit, agreed to Luke's operation plan, and assigned him to handle the upcoming capture operation on behalf of the FBI.

As the Navy SEALs arrived, they didn't want to return empty-handed either, and expressed willingness to assist Luke in executing the capture plan.

About an hour later, the cruise ship approached the rendezvous point arranged with the robbers.

The cruise ship slowly stopped.

Luke looked out at the sea with binoculars from inside the cockpit, already faintly seeing the Mexican coast.

As long as the robbers' boat comes near the ship, the nearby Navy SEALs will quickly spot it and execute the capture—the robbers won't have a chance to board the ship and pose no threat to it.

Suddenly, a hubbub arose outside the cockpit.

Luke gave a quick word to the first officer, then left the cockpit to check the deck.

Due to the cruise ship stopping, some brave passengers had come to the deck to check what was happening; at the moment, they were all leaning over the ship's railing, looking down.

"Someone fell into the water!"

"Someone jumped into the water."

Luke walked over to the railing to look—a red liferaft was unfolding on the water's surface.

Four people wearing orange life jackets were climbing onto the liferaft.

To ensure the smooth execution of the capture operation, Luke hadn't disclosed the specifics to the passengers on the ship.

These passengers might be worried about being harmed by the robbers again and want to escape to the Mexican coast using the liferaft.

However, Gor Neville just contacted the robbers, who might come to meet the ship at any time, so Luke couldn't worry about these people for now.

After about ten minutes, a blue speedboat appeared on the horizon, rapidly approaching the cruise ship.

The Navy SEALs were already prepared for combat; there was no need for Luke to prompt them as two black armed boats quickly closed in from both sides while a black armed helicopter flew over the robbers' yacht.

"Da-da-da..." The robbers fired their guns.

"Boom..." A shell shot from the helicopter hit the rear of the speedboat.

The speedboat was destroyed, losing power, and the surviving robbers jumped into the sea.

The Navy SEALs' speedboats arrived and successfully captured several robbers; simultaneously, under Luke's guidance, the Navy SEALs found the liferaft and rescued the four passengers.

The Navy SEALs divided into two groups; one speedboat took the robbers away.

The other sped toward the cruise ship as several Navy SEALs boarded with the four rescued passengers.

"Pa-pa..."

The passengers on the deck spontaneously applauded, their faces beaming with the joy of narrowly escaping disaster.

Luke stepped forward and showed his credentials, "I am Luke Lee, Deputy Director of the FBI Los Angeles Counterterrorism Division."

The leading Navy SEAL approached and saluted, "Minister Lee, I'm Gardie Vega, captain of the Navy SEAL Team Six."

We previously communicated."

Luke nodded, "Captain Gardie Vega, you did a great job."

"Piece of cake." Gardie Vega laughed, continuing, "Sir, our group has all but two members on the ship who are piloting the speedboats; the rest have boarded the cruise ship. Is there anything you need us to do?"

Luke said, "According to existing intelligence, the robbers on the cruise ship have been captured or killed by me; three injured robbers will be left under your care."

Additionally, there might still be accomplices of the robbers hiding on the ship; your squad needs to patrol and secure the ship to ensure it returns smoothly to Los Angeles."

Any questions?"

"No, sir."

"Good."

Gardie Vega pointed at the four people wearing orange life vests, "Minister Lee, these four were also rescued from the liferaft. They claim to be passengers on the cruise ship and wanted to escape using the liferaft because the ship was hijacked," he whispered, "I checked—they have no weapons."

Luke nodded, eyeing the four; they might be passengers or possibly accomplices of the robbers trying to escape.

Luke joked, "Gentlemen, your adventurous spirit is commendable; if it were me, I might not dare to jump straight into the ocean."

The four smiled.

Luke asked, "How are you physically? Any injuries?"

"No, we're perfectly fine."

A young man said, "Sir, I remember you—you're the one who defeated the robbers in the restaurant and saved my life. I wouldn't doubt your courage."

Luke replied with a smile, "Whose idea was it to escape using the liferaft?"

Three of them simultaneously glanced at a white man.

The man was of medium build, wore a baseball cap, and had been silent.

Luke asked, "What's your name?"

The white man lifted his head, "Yoger Gerard."

"I seem to have seen you somewhere before—can you take off your cap?"
