Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 1354 - 625: Apprehension

The cruise ship cockpit.

The cockpit is located on the fifth floor of the cruise ship, covering about twenty square meters. Its interior is quite simple, with a console, desk, cabinet, and chairs.

These items are now stacked at the entrance, blocking the door to the cockpit.

The cockpit's glass is bulletproof, making it difficult to break through in a short time.

There are five people inside the cockpit, to be precise, three living people and two dead bodies.

Blood spills from the two corpses, filling the air with the scent of blood, while sunlight casts a blood-red hue on the floor.

Among them, a man in a first mate's uniform is steering the cruise ship, with a Mexican man holding a gun standing behind him, staring at him with a menacing look.

Not far away, a man in a second mate's uniform sits on a chair, holding a submachine gun, his gaze scanning the outside of the cockpit through the window.

"Knock knock..."

At this moment, a silhouette appears outside the cockpit.

The three inside the room all become tense.

The Mexican gunman presses his gun against the first mate, threatening, "Steer the ship carefully, don't play any tricks. If anything goes wrong, you'll be the first to die." He then turns to the head gunman, the second mate, "Boss, what should we do now?"

The second mate does not answer, raising his gun, and vigilantly looking outside the cockpit.

"Knock knock." Another knocking sound comes from outside.

A woman stands outside the cockpit, her head covered with a scarf, wrapping her tightly, only exposing her blue eyes with long eyelashes and eye shadow.

"It's me." The woman speaks, revealing half of her face. It's none other than Anty Doherty, who was just arrested by Luke.

The second mate breathes a sigh of relief, puts away his gun, pulls away from the desk, moves the cabinet aside, and opens the door, "How did you get here, come in and talk."

"Bang!"

A loud bang, the door is kicked open.

The second mate is knocked to the ground by the door.

Luke rushes into the cockpit, raises his pistol, and shoots the Mexican gunman inside.

"Bang."

The gunfire rings out.

The Mexican gunman didn't have a chance to fight back and gets shot in the head.

Luke then aims the pistol at the second mate on the ground, shooting him in the arm.

"Ah..." The second mate screams, and the pistol falls to the ground.

"FBI, don't move!" Luke kicks the gun away.

Previously, Luke canceled the plan for a forceful assault on the cockpit, worried that the second mate might have a bomb installed on the cruise ship, which if detonated during a forceful entry, would endanger the hundreds of people on the cruise if triggered.

But he learned from Anty Doherty that the gunmen were transporting drugs, not bombs, thus eliminating the crisis.

So, Luke had Anty Doherty call to open the cockpit door, and he subdued the two gunmen.

These two were exposed due to drug transport and were forced to hijack the cruise ship; they lacked military skills.

The man in the first mate uniform raises both his hands, "I'm Rory Carton, the first mate of the cruise ship. I was coerced by them, they killed the captain and the chief mate.

If I didn't follow their instructions, I would be killed too."

The first mate had met Luke once, but in such a crisis, it's not the time to make acquaintances.

With the assistance of Hamidi Shawn's two bodyguards, Luke successfully controls the cruise ship cockpit, handcuffs the injured second mate, and searches the first mate, finding no weapon.

The Mexican gunman shot in the head is already lifeless.

Subsequently, Luke leaves Hamidi Shawn's two bodyguards in the cockpit and takes the second mate to the next room.

The second mate is dragged in without dignity, cursing, "Anty Doherty, you bitch, how dare you betray me!

Fuck, I'll kill you!"

"Bang!" Luke closes the door, "Had enough of yelling? If you've finished, let's talk."

The second mate glares at Luke with bloodshot eyes, questioning, "Why did that bitch betray me?"

"Because she didn't want to spend her life in prison. Is that reason enough?"

"What did she tell you?"

Luke shakes a finger, "It's not your turn to question me, it's my turn to question you.

What's your name?"

"Gor Neville"

"Where are the drugs?"

The second mate's lips twitch, "Why should I tell you?"

Though Luke is not sure where the drugs are hidden, he is certain they are on the cruise ship and cannot escape, so he is in no rush, "I've promised Anty Doherty that as long as she helps me retake the cockpit, I can help her become a state's witness.

If you assist me in catching the backup gunmen, you too can get a favorable plea deal.

Think about it carefully, will you work with me, or spend the rest of your life in prison?"

"I don't trust you, unless you bring out the plea agreement first.

After I see the terms of the plea deal and sign it, maybe I'll help you."

Luke smiles, "The situation is urgent, there's no time for that, I can promise you verbally."

Gor Neville shrugs, "I told you, I don't trust you."

"You seem to not understand something. I've already caught you and Anty Doherty, even if the backup gunmen get away, I lose nothing.

But this is your only chance.

I'll give you five minutes.

If you don't give a clear answer in five minutes, I'll let Anty Doherty assist in capturing the backup gunmen."
