Chapter 18: So much to learn!
Jett woke once more atop a mound of soft cushions.
He turned his head and found his two maids already at his side. Beyond them, the vast window stood open, the setting sun staining the sapphire ocean crimson. It slipped toward the horizon. The sight of those contrasting maids, both smiling against that fiery backdrop, reminded Jett just how drastically his life had changed.
Given how high I can climb as the Warden, I'm still nowhere near my peak. Even so, I already feel blessed—and buzzed.
"Good afternoon, you two," he said, pushing himself upright.
"Good afternoon, Master Jett," Mia replied, bowing low.
"Good afternoon, Master," Noctlisa echoed, mirroring the head maid.
"What have you two been up to?" he asked, scooting to the edge of the bed.
From the corner of his eye he noticed the pillows and sheets on his emperor‑sized bed were fresh and spotless. Sleeping in linens soaked with his and Noctlisa's juices would've been disgusting—yet this wasn't the first time he'd awakened in clean bedding.
"Is that some built‑in feature of the bed?" he asked.
Mia smiled. "It isn't, Master Jett. You sleep so deeply after intercourse that we can swap the linens without disturbing you."
"Master's eyes didn't so much as flicker while we fixed your posture—not even a damn twitch," Noctlisa said, pride edging her rough tone. "That trust honors me, Master."
