Chapter 50: Is This Love
When Tohka finally had enough of smelling his body, she lifted her head and stared at Shido with an expectant gaze.
Like a maiden curious about love, although Tohka doesn't completely understand the meaning of love. Just thinking of being together with Shido for a lifetime made her absolutely happy as if her heart was jumping inside her chest.
This was a new feeling Tohka had discovered when she was with Shido. Remembering it made her feel warm inside, and the more time she spent with him, the stronger that feeling grew.
Then she finally asked Shido a question she had wanted to ask.
"Then Shido... is this love?"
Shido was slightly startled by her question, but seeing how serious and resolute her expression suddenly became, he knew that he had to take her seriously this time.
Placing his left hand on her waist and his right hand on her cheek, Shido could feel her determination, along with a hint of nervousness, which made him chuckle silently. Even though Tohka was serious, he could sense the lingering worries in her heart, and he couldn't help but find it adorable.
Feeling his gentle palms lift her face, Tohka locked eyes with Shido, waiting for his answer. If one looked closely, they would notice her shoulders trembling slightly, a sign of her nervous anticipation for his response.
Although Shido only knew Tohka for over a month, the time he spent with her was one of the happiest moments he ever had after his reincarnation.
He knew his feelings for her were genuine and pure. Though the past bathroom incident had left him with a few indecent thoughts, Shido truly cared for Tohka from the depths of his heart. He wanted her by his side, not just in this lifetime, but in the next as well.
"Tohka, this feeling... it's love. I love you, now and forever. No matter how many lifetimes pass, I want you to be by my side, always."
