Chapter 73: Beast Core
And his thoughts were proven true as he read the next few logs written on his grimoire.
[Due to the Unbelievable Performance on the recent battle, Your Innate Beast, Fiery Empress- Aaliyah Red’s Skills, [Fireball], [Fire Arrows], [Flame Jump], [Incinerating Beam], [Infernal Incineration] (Level +1) ]
[Due to the Unbelievable Performance on the recent battle, You have been rewarded with Daily Contracted Beast Summon +1 ]
This time, the extra reward was truly something.
As they say, the more dangerous it was, the more bountiful the rewards would be.
No risks, no rewards.
The upgrades of almost all of Aaliyah’s Skill was already good enough, however, the reward for being able to summon another summon in a single day made it even more better.
One must note that this was Miguel’s current biggest problem in terms of his summoning.
Due to the limitations of only being able to summon one beast per day, he would always hold back in Summoning Aaliyah or the Volcanic Tortoise until the last second.
Due to this, he could not casually summon the Volcanic Tortoise to train or to battle for him as he was afraid he might encounter something dangerous later.
In fact, not only Miguel, this was what most Apprentice Summoners face. However, most of them usually don’t contract another beast until they reach the Advance Apprentice Rank, so they were not in such a huge dilemma compared to Miguel.
Those who contracted other beasts were also their preparation when they reached Elite Rank, allowing them to become familiar with both beasts by the time they reached the Elite Rank, allowing them to summon both beasts at the same time without any problem.
However, Miguel was unlike the others. He truly needed this one extra summon limit. He could not neglect the Volcanic Tortoise just like that. After all, it also has some massive potential that he wanted to realize.
With this additional summon, Miguel would also have a major advantage towards others. An extra beast during a fight would be a huge advantage towards others.
Not only that, Miguel would also be able to summon either of his beasts and not worry about getting found out that he actually has an Innate Beast, unlike what the others know.
And with the existence of the Beauty Sign-In System, it was already a guarantee that he would have more summons compared to the others in the future.
Anyways, Miguel’s advancement was not to be trifled either.
Reaching Advance Apprentice Rank allowed his Absolute Shield to last even longer, and become slightly stronger in terms of defense. Although it could not withstand Aaliyah’s attack yet, it should not be a problem for it to last for a few seconds, enough for Miguel to escape using his other skills.
Advancing to Advance Apprentice allowed him to summon his summon for a total of 30 minutes per day as well.
Miguel unsummoned his grimoire as he looked at the devastation around him.
Fire lingered around as a ten meter radius of dark spot was seen around with the corpse of the Luminous Giant Toad at the center.
The ground was scorched while a portion of the water at the edge of the creek evaporated into mists.
Miguel shook his head with a wry smile before he went forward towards the Luminous Giant Toad.
The Luminous Giant Toad has already been demonized, and it should be burnt to avoid it being consumed by other beasts.
However, Miguel felt that there was something valuable inside this Luminous Giant Toad. His Innate Skill has been pointing it out to him, telling him to dig deep and find the treasure hidden within.
Using the sharp Volcanic Wyrm Sword, Miguel did not waste any more time and immediately dissected the Luminous Giant Toad.
He turned it upside down and made a vertical slit on its stomach.
He pulled out its innards as he followed his intuition to search for the valuable thing that his Innate Skill had been hinting him.
A moment later, Miguel pulled the heart out of the Luminous Giant Toad.
Its heart was pretty big, even bigger than Miguel’s head. At this moment, it looked purplish and looked contaminated.
Following his intuition, Miguel split the Luminous Giant Toad’s heart into two, revealing a bluish marble the size of his fist inside it.
Miguel took it out and realized what it was at first glance.
A Beast Core of the Water attribute.
A Beast Core was a rare and valuable treasure with varying attributes.
They were valuable for both Martial Artists, Summoners and Beasts alike.
Beast Cores usually automatically form in Silver Grade Beast. Especially when they were about to evolve to a Gold Grade Beast.
This was because almost all of the Gold Grade Beast has a Beast Core inside them. It allows their attack to become even more lethal and their body to become more durable. A Gold Grade Beast can only be called a Gold Grade Beast if they have a Beast Core.
It was also for this reason that Gold Grade Beasts were truly feared.
Beast Cores may vary in strength and attribute depending on the Beast that formed it.
Beasts that consume Beast Core will notice a massive improvement in their strength or level. If the potency was high enough, it can even allow the beast to evolve into a stronger species, or evolve into its higher grade.
For Martial Artist, only when they were at a high rank would they be able to use one. They can either consume it, or embed it into their weapons or armors, imbuing them elemental prowess depending on the Beast Core.
For Summoners, they can absorb it naturally, making them more attuned to the same attribute, allowing them to learn same-attributed skills more easily.
Miguel learned of this information from Red Cliff City.
Of course, none of the shops there have this valuable resource. This was very rare as only Silver Grade Beast has the chance of having them. Only when one was lucky enough would they encounter something so valuable and sought of.
As for hunting a Gold Grade Beast for its Beast Core, this was never on their option to begin with.
Seeing the bluish Beast Core, Miguel immediately knew where he should use this valuable resource.
Volcanic Tortoise!
