Chapter 101: First Time In A New World (R-18)
It didn’t take long for Graham, Rob’s stockbroker, to call him after that.
While they all were waiting for Brent to return, Dacey and Rob had returned to the couch and were snuggling a bit when the call came. Rob was reminded of the fact that he told him that he would give an answer by the evening to Graham.
It was already nearing nine.
Rob picked up the call and answered Graham’s anxious questions. When he revealed that he had signed the deal with Flower Capital for a premium price, Rob felt Graham go silent.
Graham then went on to scrutinize and question Rob’s deal with Flower Capital. He also raged a bit at Rob for not including him in the negotiations. He chastised Rob for acting on his own and reminded him who his stockbroker was.
Rob was a little irritated with Graham’s behavior. But, he held it in and asked him to be ready to transfer the stocks to Flower Capital tomorrow. He pointed out that this was a better offer than what Graham had brought forth and said it was only natural he took the best offer he had received.
Graham went silent for a bit and then came back lamenting that if he had been present during negotiations, he would have gotten more for Rob. Rob didn’t believe it one bit but didn’t comment on it either. The conversation lasted for a few more minutes with Graham urging Rob not to take such decisions without consulting him anymore.
Rob could only smile and apologize for that. He promised to never do such a thing in the future. But, inwardly, he was wondering if he should change his stockbroker from now on.
Graham’s actions have irritated Rob a bit. And he felt that he couldn’t entirely trust Graham. It was fine when he was dealing in thousands and buying a small amount of stock. But, now that he had more money and will be investing more, Rob felt that he needed a trustworthy stockbroker to be his employee.
After talking for a few more minutes Rob cut the call. He was sure that Graham was swearing profanities in anger at the other end when he cut the call finally. However, Rob was currently in a good mood. So, he threw the matter regarding Graham to the back of his head and forgot about it.
Soon Brent returned, and the party got underway.
There were only five people present in the office and drinks started flowing soon. Brent and his buddies formed a small group and started indulging in food and drinks. Rob and Dacey, as a couple, were a little more restrained at first.
