Chapter 323: The World at the End (4)
On a field that rustled like sand.
The pink girl was looking around with an extremely tense expression.
“There’s nowhere to escape…”
As time passed and the sky grew darker, the shadow realm obscured by the sky curtain began to stretch towards where the pink girl and the Blue Reaper were.
No matter where they looked, front, back, left, or right, there was no visible escape route that didn’t touch the shadows.
The monsters, writhing as if melting in the shadows, slowly, slowly approached along the shadow realm.
The monsters in the shadows were staring intently at the Attachment Human’s shadow, which had been torn so much that little remained.
As if staring at delicious food.
Some monsters prowled around the pink girl, while others furiously clawed at the ground.
Boom. Boom.
The Blue Reaper felt like it was drifting on a tiny boat in the middle of a sea filled with harmful evolution fluid.
Meanwhile, some monsters, unable to wait for the darkness to spread, poked their heads out of the shadows, but the monsters’ bodies that touched the faint light realm instantly melted away.
Seeing this, the Blue Reaper began to embroider text strings in the air.
<Please repel the shadows with light!>
As those text strings scattered like water mist, dozens of light spheres the size of the Blue Reaper’s head floated up towards the sky.
They gathered in a circle as if to protect the Blue Reaper and the Mom Golem, bobbing gently.
The spheres lined up like that emitted an intense light from their positions, erasing all the surrounding shadows cleanly like flash grenades.
At the same time, the monsters that had taken root in the shadows disappeared without a trace.
“Amazing!”
The pink girl, who shouted excitedly, picked up the Blue Reaper and rubbed it vigorously against her cheek.
“Those monsters could be defeated by exposing them to light. I’ve encountered them many times before, but I never knew.”
“The weak flames made by alchemy weren’t enough to drive away the shadows.”
The pink girl said this while rummaging through her bag as if she had remembered something.
“When I checked my bag last time, there were lots of torches, but as expected, there’s not a single one now.”
“I should have kept at least one instead of throwing them all away because they were heavy.”
As she searched through her bag like that, the girl tilted her head with a slightly puzzled expression.
“Huh? But why was I carrying so many torches in the first place?”
“It’s strange, since torches aren’t even edible.”
The pink girl closed the bag’s opening and laughed awkwardly.
The Blue Reaper looked at that awkward smile with a worried expression.
The Attachment Human’s shadow, which had almost disappeared, kept flashing in the Blue Reaper’s mind.
