Chapter 298: James Space Station (2)
In the mountains under a blue sky, there was a valley with clear water trickling.
Shiny pebbles were scattered along the sparkling stream, making cheerful sounds with each step.
A man slowly walked into this beautiful valley.
On his head sat a Black Reaper, gripping his hair.
The man, unable to contain his admiration for nature’s beauty, looked up at the Black Reaper and said:
“The water’s so clear. The pebbles are gleaming. And the air’s so fresh! This place is really nice, right?”
Beep-!
The Black Reaper made a clear sound as if answering.
Seeing the Black Reaper seemed to like this place too, the man smiled contentedly.
Then he put down his backpack and started setting up a tent with the Black Reaper.
The man lightly swung the Black Reaper transformed into a hammer.
Like tent pegs sinking into soft ground, it easily drove into the hard ground.
This happened as the Black Reaper moved its body in sync with the man’s hand movements.
The Black Reaper hammer exerted just the right amount of force even when swung lightly.
The Black Reaper firmly gripped the man’s hand so there was no chance of dropping it.
Even if swung in the wrong direction and about to hit his own hand, the Black Reaper would turn soft so there was no risk of injury.
The golden shining eyes on the hammer head were cute too.
Plus, it could transform into numerous tools including clothing like gloves besides hammers, so no other tools were needed.
It was perfect except for the tiny tongue that licked his palm whenever the Black Reaper got bored.
“Thanks.”
Grateful, the man hugged the Black Reaper rolling around on the folding table and slowly stroked it.
Actually, the man was so thankful to the Black Reaper.
He wouldn’t be doing his current job if not for the Black Reaper.
The man’s job was traveling to scenic nature spots, camping, and recording videos of it.
30 years after Objects appeared en masse.
Camping, which inevitably involved traveling to remote places, had become a completely dead hobby.
Meeting an Object while enjoying camping was as dangerous as encountering a wild tiger.
Being able to travel around like this without fearing Objects was all thanks to the Black Reaper.
Though only palm-sized, the Black Reaper Object was powerful enough to instantly defeat most Objects.
Om nom nom.
The Black Reaper was quietly eating snacks in the man’s arms.
But at that moment, the Black Reaper’s expression hardened as if sensing something, and it jumped onto the back of the man’s hand.
The man looked puzzled at the Reaper’s sudden change in behavior, but soon realized the message it was trying to convey and started scanning the surroundings.
Growl.
Following the Black Reaper’s gaze, numerous tigers began emerging from the shadows of the dense forest.
Oh no, another tiger pack.
He had encountered a tiger pack on Gwanaksan recently, and now he’s met another tiger pack.
A serious expression flashed across the man’s face.
He had been sensing abnormal phenomena in the forests lately.
The forests were becoming overgrown, and animals rarely seen before were starting to appear frequently.
From herbivores like deer to carnivores like tigers.
Those animals even showed behavior patterns they don’t normally exhibit, like ‘tigers forming packs’.
Plus, he had recently spotted an unidentified large bird with rainbow feathers scattering light.
I guess I’ll have to postpone camping until the forest returns to normal.
The Black Reaper who really likes going camping will be a bit gloomy, but it can’t be helped.
