Hilbert Sheila had barely managed to greet Li Ang and his group of juniors when he hurried over to the last few who had just arrived.
Li Ang watched from not too far away, and casually asked Sheila:
&"How much more support does your dad need to secure a victory over his opponent?"
&"Um... To be honest, that’s not easy to quantify, but at least he would be more secure if he could win over three of the four big shots here today. Or, alternatively, if he could get two on his side and his opponent gets none, that would also work. In any case, he needs to surpass by one to break even, and by two to have the upper hand," Sheila replied.
The answer Sheila gave was one she herself was not very sure of; after all, there’s a difference between people and the degree of support varies, so it’s not easy to draw a simple conclusion based on numbers.
Li Ang nodded, pretending to understand, and then asked:
"Would the support of a military officer with the rank of Brigadier General make any difference?"
Sheila laughed in an exaggerated tone as she replied:
&"Of course it does. After all, my dad is not running for President of America. When did Generals become so worthless? The rank of Brigadier General wouldn’t be any less significant than any of those present here."
Hearing Li Ang ask that, Sheila couldn’t help but speculate if he had connections within the military, but now wasn’t the time to ask. First, she was afraid of getting her hopes up, and second, she knew that winning over such a significant figure would likely come at a considerable cost, which might not be something Li Ang could afford.
