Chapter 568: Chi Lian the great seductress
Chi Lian did not find it surprising that the emperor shamelessly borrowed her submersible because the recovery of the ship wreck was beginning that night itself. The military helicopter dropped them off in the cold town where Muyang’s driver was waiting to drive them to their apartment. Even though she and Muyang wanted to see the children, it was close to eleven and they were already sleeping.
"Let’s just stay in our apartment, we will see them tomorrow." she told Muyang.
"That’s a great suggestion wife, this gives us enough time for you start your explanation as I prepare my arms for your spanking and punishment. Do you know how dangerous this kind of situation is?" He was unpacking their suitcases in the walk in closet while facing away from her so she could not see his face.
It would be much easier fot her to explain if she could see his face because she could talk her way out of anything as long as she could read him in the slightest bit.
"Hubby," she called him softly, "I promise, it’s not as it seems. I received that information abruptly. It needed a lot of verifying before I could come to you with such a wild tale. It’s no secret that I am not at ease with the crown princess and I did not want you or anyone thinking that I was implicating her unjustly."
Muyang turned around, and faced his wife with some disappointment in his eyes. "Do you really think that I would not believe you?"
Her eyes popped open and she grabbed his arm, pulling his head down to look into her eyes. "Honey, what are you talking about? Of course not, I would never think such a thing. You have proven time and time again that I can trust you with my everything. I just wanted to be one hundred percent certain before coming to you. This is treason we are talking about not theft or a simple crime, it’s treason. I myself was frightened out of my mind when I found it." She was being honest and she knew he would forgive her eventually but she was going to have to skillfully navigate the situation.
"I don’t believe you." Muyang pursed his lips and looked away from her.
"Honey," she whined, "Look at me, mmm, Yang-Yang, it’s your Chi-Chi, your adorable wife."
