Chapter 545: The women’s high tea society is condemned
Nobody was more surprised than Chi Lian the next day when just as they were about to leave and escort the elders to their new apartment in the cold town, the personal maid of the matriarch of the Ai family showed up with a bodyguard, a lawyer and a briefcase of cash.
When she saw the bundles of cash which totaled up to five million Chi Lian raised her eyebrows and looked at the maid in a questioning manner. ’What’s this for?’ her eyes conveyed.
"The matriarch says she would love it if this incident did not make it past the walls of the two houses. She sends her sincerest apologies, the little master will also be receiving a different kind of education to set the crooked branch straight."
"T4, scan the money first, for all I know there could be a bomb or poison in this briefcase." She had been seriously intending to sue them for the crimes of kidnapping and attempted murder for her cat. The matriarch of the Ai’s was wiser than she looked for plugging the leaking hole quickly. The leaking hole in this case was Chi Lian who had a video of the crime.
"Please sign here if this settlement is agreeable." The lawyer handed her a well prepared document which was clearly an NDA.
"Aaaah," Chi Lian said slowly, "I don’t know if this NDA offends me more than it displeases me. I will accept the money in exchange for payment of treatment for my cat but I will not be signing the NDA." She gave the briefcase to Qi Qing who handed it to old tiger and Caizu who were moving cases out of the house. "Tell your matriarch that if my lips and hands were loose, I would have aired the video already. I own a media company after all. Like I said back in your house, I am not in the business of punishing children. The boy is five years old and unless he exhibits certain disturbing traits then he has simply been led astray by the adults. I heard that the maids were instructed to kill the cat which scratched him and in my thinking this instruction was given by an adult. Deal with the adults to save the child." She tore the NDA into pieces and stood up. "Please show yourselves out, we are going for a trip as you can see."
The lawyer looked at the maid and she pursed her lips as she watched Chi Lian walking away, unsure of what to do. She took her phone out of the pocket in her coat.
"Did you hear that matriarch?" She asked. The phone had been on the entire time and all that Chi Lian said, the matriarch heard clearly.
"You can return." Was the matriarch’s response and the maid hung up.
