Chapter 538: The end of a good conference
The last activity which would end the women’s conference soon started and it was open not only to the attendees of the conference but the public as well. For this reason, some CEO’S, particularly male ones made time to show up, visit booths and take many photographs. They wanted to prove that they were supportive of women in business to the public. It was just as He Weili said, chairman Jun was among those to show up and be open and loud. He praised more than a few ideas and inventions and at the end of the day, he even signed a contract on the spot and bought out one game from a female university student and her team.
Numerous pictures where taken of that signing and everyone was all smiles. What Chi Lian could not figure out is if it was real or Chairman Jun was just seeking attention from the media to hype Jun corporation.
It was around six in the evening when the conference was closed officially with a two minute speech from Chi Lian and another from the queen dowager who promised to set up a loan scheme designed to help impoverished women who were interested in business.
On a successful note, Chi Lian and the other women parted ways. She was driven to her family’s house by old tiger because she wanted to see her family before leaving for her long overdue honeymoon in two days.
Both of her parents and Chi Wei were home, watching the latest news on Phoenix television while mama Chi sliced some fruits for Su Manchu.
"Mother, father I am home." She announced her presence cheerfully.
Four heads turned in her direction, all of them with smiles that were eager to welcome her.
"My daughter." Mama Chi abandoned the fruit knife on a plate and got up to hug Chi Lian. "What is all this that you are carrying?" She asked when she noticed the bags in her hands.
"Watermelons from the orchid in pear park, they are all ripe so rather than selling them I decided to have them distributed to the old people in the town for free." They deserved something for putting up with all the construction noise and sudden influx of strangers into their town. This was a good way of buying some good will from them.
