Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun

Chapter 526: A world of science

And just like that, in the blinking of an eye, the air transformed and the sweet breath of spring gave way to the warm cuddle of summer. The yellow sun in the sky above cast it’s golden rays powerfully on the earth seeming almost too harsh to be enjoyed. People got rid of their jackets and they donned the lightest outfits in their closets. There was a boost in the cold beverage business, hand held fans were in the hands of almost every shop owner as if the air provided by modern air conditioning was not enough. In this season, the flowers blossomed, blooming and filling the air with their fragrance. It was hot, but the heat was loved and welcomed more than any other season.

On this fine sunny day, a few ministers, the grand emperor and the prime minister were some of the important people who gathered in the cold town for the opening of two things. One was a scientific park which they had been assured would be the home of the greatest scientific discoveries in the world and two, a bridge across the cold river that connected the cold town to the capital. It shortened a two hour trip by forty minutes, there were many arguments about it’s importance by a few ministers but because it was privately funded, all arguments fell on deaf ears.

The pear scientific park was an actual park, with the exclusion of the large circular shaped buildings, it was filled with tall trees, flowers and orchards. There were little benches, roads, and even a few animals like squirrels and birds which had turned the park into their home.

It’s beauty was so breathtaking that a few people were traveling to take a look inside ever since it was featured in the Phoenix magazine. Unfortunately, it was private property and only employees or people with special access could get inside. This did not stop those that had bad intentions from trying to sneak in and steal whatever was inside.

These important visitors had been given a tour by Chi Lian and a female professor that Bear head hunted from Crimson University named Zhu Wen.

During the tour, one person in particular made a fuss, the mad genius Mujin who wanted to borrow the telescope until he was told that the astronomy lab on the upper floor belonged to Jun Mengze. When he learned about Jun Mengze’s identity, he looked at minister Su with grievances in his eyes. How could a two and a half year old boy own a lab with a telescope which should be used by the empire’s national space station. Did this make sense to anyone? Minister su simply shrugged, none of the things in here belonged to the empire. They were all private property and they had to request nicely if they wanted to use them. Like all the robots he had seen whose duty was to carry and clean things. Or the assimilation room whose technology superior to anything he had ever seen.

"I want a lab in here." Mujin informed Chi Lian.

"It can be discussed," Chi Lian told him "But you should also know the policy of Phoenix labs, we will fund all of your research but we own sixty percent of whatever it is." Some people would view this kind of contract as unfair but it was the policy. She was providing the money and tools, no matter how long the research took to bear fruits, she would pay the researcher a salary. It was justified that she reap the bigger portion of the fruits.

"You work for the empire Mujin, calm down." Minister Su reminded him.
