Chapter 451: Chi Wei’s decision.
In Chi Wei’s bedroom in the Chi house he was lying on his bed and consoling himself, trying to so hard to keep the pain of his newly broken heart at bay when his grandparents came knocking. He hesitated to grant them entrance into his private sanctuary because he knew that their aim was to possibly console him. He neither wanted to be consoled nor looked at as though he had turned into a broken doll that needed to be stuck together with glue by his grandmother. It was disconcerting but it was rude to keep the elders waiting at his door so he went ahead and opened it.
"Grandparents, I was about to take a bath and sleep." he said. "What can I do for you?"
"I want to talk to you about something, it’s very urgent and important." his grandfather pushed his cane on the door, urging him to open it wider.
He opened the door and allowed them to enter and the he followed them. There were two chairs inside his bedroom and his grandfather sat down in one.
Chi Wei sat on the bed and waited for his grandparents to start talking.
"I have asked one of the maids to prepare some hung over soup for you." his grandmother said first. She was still looking him with those dotting worried eyes.
Chi Wei looked away from her and mumbled, "Thank you."
"Wei," grandpa Wang said, "I know that you may not be in the best mood to try new things but I have been thinking that maybe you should go and train at the capital military base for one month or two. The time will be up to you but I think having a routine and keeping busy will be good for you right now. You cannot wallow in sadness and drink away your broken heart, alcohol is not going to be the answer. You are the oldest of your siblings, the one to set an example for the rest and take the helm of leadership in the family in future. Protecting and developing this family is a burden you will have to bear as the first son, you need a wife that understands this and helps you move in this direction. Jian Yu is focused on her career, you have to forget about her and find someone else. It will take time for you to get yourself back together and time in the military base might do you some good. They will push you so hard that you will barely have time to think about your problems but if you stay and continue going to the office you might end up laying your head on the table and crying or feeling sorry for yourself all day."
Madam An had not been expecting her husband to bring up Jian Yu so she pushed her wheelchair closer and she took his hand, "Wei, I will find a beautiful wife for you. Your grandfather and I were put together by our families and look at us today. People think that we are high school sweethearts. Happiness can be found in the most unexpected places. What your grandfather is saying about the army you don’t have to do it if you don’t want. It’s just a suggestion, grandma is here to make sure that you do what you want."
