Chapter 412: Spring gala[2]
In many homes in different cities around the empire, families were sitting in front of their television screens. They were watching different television channels but on each of the channels, there was only one program, the Spring festival gala.
In some homes, the battle for the remote would not end until an elder stepped in and made the decision on which channel everyone should watch.
In the Qi home for example, Qi Lele had turned on Phoenix Tv but her brother Qi Kai grabbed the remote out of her hands and turned on the NBTV.
"What are you doing?" Qi Lele huffed angrily and she climbed over him to forcefully take the remote from him.
Qi Kai was stronger and he won the battle of the remote.
"Daddy," Qi Lele called her father with her bottom lip trembling. "Older brother is bullying me."
Their father whose head was buried in a newspaper barely looked up. "Qi Kai, give your sister the remote." He said in a resigned voice. This was a fight that took place every year. In fact all the other members of the family just watched whichever television the winner picked.
"Not fair." Qi Kai muttered. He refused to give it up.
Qi Lele walked away and when she returned, she was holding a plastic knife against Lucifer’s neck. She coughed two times and Qi Kai looked at her then his eyes went wide in horror. "Hand it over or the cat gets it."
Qi Kai screamed. "Hey, it’s just a remote, you don’t need to go this far. What is so special about your boss’s show anyway? You saw it too, they have no opening act." he threw the remote away. "There you go, please let my baby go." he pleaded.
Qi Lele smirked and she took the remote but she did not hand Lucifer over. "I need to be sure that you will behave all night. I am keeping the hostage." she said.
