In homes all over the empire, shock was a familiar expression for so many. The Aoi organization had been around for so many years. Their reputation was as spotless as a blank white sheet of paper. Why were they being accused of having a hand in this mess?
Quickly, another hash tag joined the trending topics of the day, #Aoi organization in plantation massacre.
In the royal palace, the emperor, empress, crown prince, grand emperor and queen dowager were all following Phoenix news closely. The news had been running for over an hour now and it was time for another program but that program had been cancelled for the day.
The members of the royal family wore scowls on their faces because this massacre had claimed the lives of many citizens of the empire and it was going to bring heavy criticism and dissatisfaction about the ruling family.
A lot of discussions were going to follow in the few weeks with all sorts of experts and quacks advising the citizens on matters of national security.
The other big reason for the scowls on their faces was that one of their own was involved in this whole mess. They were doing all they could to keep it quiet by making sure that the plantation massacre was the biggest news in the empire. To them, this was better than, "meet the emperor’s murderous uncle."
"Where is that bastard?" the grand emperor asked the royal butler. "Look at all the terrible things he has done. What kind of crime did we commit for someone like that to have our blood?" He lamented "From now on there must be strict supervision of all the members of the royal family."
The emperor placed his head in both of his hands, looked down and sighed. When he raised his head, he kept rubbing his neck which was a sign of the immense stress he was under.
"Are you okay?" the empress asked him.
