Chapter 359: The video
By her side, Muyang had curiously and patiently waited as she detached the painting without inquiring into her actions. She always had a reason for everything that she did. That was a fact he understood quite well by now.
Her sudden interest in the Hua auction had intrigued him and her determination to acquire the lotus blessing peaked that intrigue. Watching her retrieve a small black memory card from the inside of the frame answered all the questions he had in his mind.
He was not sticking around simply because of this one curiosity, he also wanted to clear up any lingering doubts that she could possibly have about his alleged former nonexistent betrothal. She would not be satisfied until he gave her his side of the story.
He watched in silence as she retrieved the contents of the memory card from it and when she hit that play button on the laptop, he dragged his chair over and joined her to view the footage.
It started out innocent, in a brightly lit room that looked like an empty warehouse of sorts, a group of five well-dressed men in white suits were drinking wine around a richly stocked table with a variety of foods and toasting to each other with smiles on their faces.
The men were merry and giggly, as if they were celebrating good news. To Muyang, it appeared as if the men were partially intoxicated and well on their way to being fully intoxicated because they were loud and their faces appeared to be flushed. One of them was slurring over his words.
He closely scrutinized the video and realized that he could easily recognize three of these men except for two. One of these two was wearing a mask, he was the one sitting in the center position and the body language of others was evidently identifying him to be their leader.
The other was not familiar to him but he was sure he would find out soon enough. One of the men at the celebratory table was none other than Chu Yangmin, the other was his bastard son Fengzhou and with them a fellow accomplice Doctor Li.
These three people had appeared in the picture related to the Aoi organization. Muyang had been searching for evidence which linked these three people together but all he had so far were threads that did not connect at the other end. Currently, he was tracking the available financial records of the Chu family, Doctor Li and the public account of the Aoi organization however these were all meticulously clean.
