Chapter 325: A busy family
In the Chi house, Chi Rui who was enjoying a cup of soy milk and Youtiao was rudely interrupted by another unwelcome phone call. This was the fourth call he was receiving in less than five minutes from a reporter.
The peep star had struck once again it seemed. This call was from his assistant and after speaking for about forty seconds, he hung up and frowned.
Pushing his chair back, he stood up and said, "Excuse me; I have to go to work."
"Suddenly, is something wrong at the company?" Mama Chi asked.
Chi Rui answered, "Wu Lian is threatening to stop all of his activities if we poach Bei Qing or allow Bei Qing to get a role in director Mile’s movie. Everyone is losing their minds over this movie, you would think it will be the end of the world if they all don’t get roles in it."
Wang Tong squealed and Wang Bolin kicked her leg under the table.
Chi Lian returned to the living room with Mei-Mei in her arms, handed her to mama Chi and said, "Mother, I am going to take some things for Muyang at the university. I will be home later."
Mama Chi settled Mei-Mei onto her laps and fed her a small almond cookie. Once she was distracted, mama Chi looked at Chi Lian and said, "I was going to follow your brother to the company, it seems like something big has happened. His phone keeps ringing and he has said that Wu Lian is acting out."
From a side angle, Chi Lian noticed grandma An and Wang Xue vying for Mei-Mei’s attention. Even grandpa Wang was waving his fingers around as if they were jelly fish.
