Chapter 324: A king vs an emperor
While everyone else was eating, Chi Lian stepped away to make a call to Muyang, to check on him and little monk as well as fill him in on the happy reunion of her mother with her parents.
She had both his office schedule and school schedule on her phone so she knew when he would be busy and when he would be free. Right now, he was free. They had been together for many months and yet her heart still beat quite fast when she called him. Chi Lian often wondered if it was the same for him or whether this fluttering feeling in her tummy would ever fade.
"Hey," Muyang said lazily in a soft voice when he picked up.
"Hi." She replied coquettishly and then giggled in a way that shocked her so much so that she covered her mouth to stop herself.
"He-he." Muyang chuckled, "Are you blushing right now?" he asked in a soft teasing voice.
"Noooo," she denied. And yet, her body was swinging from side to side and she was smiling goofily. If she was on a bed right now, she would be facing the ceiling with her legs raised up in the air.
She had to take the phone away from her ear for a few seconds to calm herself down. "What is wrong with me?" she asked herself.
"Did the Wang’s come as you predicted?" he asked.
"En, everything is going well so far. My mother and her mother are getting along quite well, right now grandma An and Grandpa Wang are stuffing her with food at the table." She told him.
"Food?" he asked in a quizzing voice. It was coming to midday, were they having an early lunch?
"Most of the Wang’s did not have breakfast before coming over so we are feeding them." She explained while walking around. "The chef made crispy rice paper dumplings. Should I bring some for you at school?"
