"Anyway," the doctor continued loudly, eager to escape from this room because something was always going on when he came to examine that patient which ate up his time. This family always seemed to forget his presence. "As I was saying, while he is healthy enough to go home, please manage his diet strictly, even though he is two years old, it’s now obvious that he has not been introduced to many solid foods and he eats very little. We are sending you home with appetite boosters and you are required to come back after one month for an evaluation."
"Yes doctor." Muyang answered since Chi Lian was still wiping her eyes and little monk’s as a result of the crying.
The doctor exited the room and Muyang started packing up. The old master peeped outside and called Mei-Mei’s nanny and Qi Qing inside to assist in the packing up of all their personal property.
Chi Lian went down to the parking lot first with little monk and Mei-Mei in her arms.
Muyang watched helplessly as he was left behind without as much as a goodbye. "Grandfather, I will go with Chi-Chi and make sure they arrive safely."
"To do what?" the old master pulled him back before he could exit the room, "All you are going to do is upset little monk and make him cry again. It’s best for you to stay here and leave with me and your grandmother."
"I won’t do anything." He promised.
"I don’t trust you, for all I know you will try to take little monk’s mother or his toy away from him. You don’t know how to share things with your son." The old master insistently refused.
"But little monk’s mother is my fiancé." Muyang was completely puzzled, wasn’t Chi Lian his betrothed why did it sound like little monk had more rights to her than he did? Couldn’t they all share her equally?
"Little monk and Mei-Mei need her more than you do right now, in fact you should start sleeping at home from now on. Little monk needs special care and nurturing, the bond between mother and child needs to grow." His grandmother added more on his grandfather’s words.
"Are you the same people who previously wanted me to spend every waking hour with Chi Lian? You didn’t complain about all the nights I was spending in the Chi house previously." Muyang asked with a betrayed look on his face.
