Chapter 134: Fishing competition
"Me." She pointed at herself in shock. "Why would the assassin be here for me?’ she asked loudly. She had already counted herself out the moment he looked at the grand emperor. Why was she suddenly back in the equation?
"Shhhh!" Muyang said. When she rose her voice people turned around to look at them. "Lower your voice." He requested. "Have you forgotten that you foiled the rebel’s plans a few months ago? Or the role you played in the imprisonment of Hong Sian and there is your involvement in the rescue of Tang Siming and collapse of the triple eight gang. You are not without enemies my sweet angel."
Everything else that he said faded into the background when he called her sweet angel. Apart from calling her a minx, he had never called her any sweet names before.
"Aww, Yanger you think I am your angel." She said coquettishly, pouting her lips and blinking at him adorably.
"Concentrate woman." He flicked her forehead. "There is an assassin on the grounds; we don’t have time to waste. Let’s go and check the cameras, arrange more guards. I need to speak to the minister and warn the royals."
"Muyang wait." She needed to stop him from spinning out before he rushed out and ruined all her carefully laid plans. "I already have a handle on the matter, just concentrate on fishing."
"No," he refused angrily, "I will protect our family." He insisted.
"We," she held on to his arm. "We will protect our family together, and right now, there is nothing much we can do because the assassin is not on the grounds. We will handle it when he returns."
"The shifter is no ordinary assassin Chi-Chi." He said worriedly.
"And I am no ordinary woman Muyang." She said confidently. "I killed that mega snake in the forest on my own; I can handle one assassin that thinks he is a chameleon. I will prove to him that I am the chameleon killer."
"Chi-Chi." He said her name sternly.
