Chapter 102: Ch. 47 Part 2
When the sun was at its peak the next day, the folks of ’Big Stone Village’ were frightened by the suddenly vigorous trembling of the earth as if an earthquake was about to happen. Those on the farms dropped their farm tools running home to their families and those at home had already started packing up their most important belongings preparing to flee for their lives.
"....it’s an earthquake! hurry up and ran for your lives!"
"Wuuu, the gods have forsaken us!"
"Where will we go now? Will the government come to our aide?"
People running here and there hugging their young ones closely, the old and young with tears and desperation. Over the years earthquakes happen all year around in the dynasty, so as soon as there was a slight trembling in the earth the first thoughts was an earthquake. Without any further thoughts the villagers only wanted to scrap the valuable belongings they possessed and abandon everything else. Although it was with heartache to abandon the place of their ancestors, but at the moment saving lives was the most important.
As the villagers were immensed in their actions of fleeing, a group of people galloping on horses and carriages on high speed started slowing down one after the other upon reaching the premises of the village entrance. Those group were Yanzhi’s and Xiao Ling’s group who had finally arrived to the village, ending their journey back from the imperial city.
"It seems it’s not an earthquake!"
A young villager announced bringing those closest to the village entrance to halt, setting their restless and panicked hearts at ease.
"But where are all these horses going to? Is it an official stopping by our village?"
Although knowing that there was no earthquake, the villagers were fully not at ease. They stood aside giving way to the hoarses and the luxurious looking carriages into the village.
As soon as Yanzhi’s and Xiao Ling’s carriage rode into the village, Yanzhi released his consciousness once more covering the whole village and mountains...as if to welcome him back the trees shook their branches as if being blown by the wind and animals from small to big squeaked and roared. Such phenomena shocked the entire villagers, it only lasted a few seconds before dying down. While the villagers were discussing the strange events occurring one after the other with doubts, some even started accusing others of doing something offensive against the gods so the gods wanted to punish them, Yanzhi’s group continued to move on with no care to such small discussions of the villagers.
