Chapter 101: Ch. 47 Part 1
The imperial city was in turmoil with the departure of Xiao Ling’s group. The noise made from their departure and with their numbers marching left people more skeptical about their group. And those that wanted to make friends with them were shocked and regretful to hear of their departure, many even presented King Pingxi’s residence and the imperial doctor Shi’s residence with gifts just to know where Yanzhi and Xiao Ling came from...but of course there was no way the location of Yanzhi would be disclosed, after offending Yanzhi already....both doctor Shi and Jinhua didn’t want to make any mistake that might affect their relationship more. Those ministers and official were by no means the only people in search of Yanzhi and Xiao Ling, the person who most wanted to find the couple was the emperor himself. That night after the emperor finished discussing with immortal Pei about their next plan against Yanzhi and his group, the empress who returned back to the palace was excited to present her space pouch which was gifted to her by Xiao Ling to the emperor. After knowing the capacity far exceed that of his space pouch, the emperor couldn’t sit still and wanted to pay a visit to King Pingxi’s residence at once...but the empress rejected his idea in the sense of it was very late and inappropriate at the time, and that the couple may be resting. The emperor who was talked into giving up the idea of a visit had a very restless night.
So as soon as court section ended that morning King Pingxi was stopped by the emperor. After hearing of Yanzhi’s departure from King Pingxi the emperor threw a tantrum, accusing King Pingxi of planning treason against the royal family in keeping artifacts which are useful for the country for himself.
Yanzhi and Xiao Ling who had no knowledge of the events after their departure were unaffected....well even if they had knowledge of it, they would still be unbothered and unaffected. Days quickly went by with them hardly making stops on their journey back to the village. As they almost neared the neighbor villages which were a few hundred miles from their village, they could spot the peasant families working hard on their farms and harvesting autumn crops.
Yanzhi took out a blank talisman and made an inscription at a go without any stop using his fingers, as soon as he took back his hand at the end the talisman rose up covered in a white halo for a few seconds before it subsided and the inscription which he made turned into black ink on the talisman.
".....Xiang gong what is that for?" Xiao Ling who opened his eyes disturbed by the sensation of the blinding light while cultivating asked after blinking a couple of times.
But instead of answering his question, Yanzhi continued on making seals with his fingers. The talisman flew out of the window very fast after Yanzhi was done making the seals.
"A message talisman" with his gaze still on the flying talisman he answered to Xiao Ling’s question.
Xiao Ling knew at once where the message was being sent to, he sighed with regret thinking if only there were mobile phones. Unable to hold onto his thoughts he voiced it out to Yanzhi.
"Mobile phones? I see, we cultivators have similar artifacts like jade massage tokens which is activated using blood or soul force, it can be used for both massages and communication...but it’s a pity that I don’t have them. I could make them myself along with teleportation talismans, but the spiritual jade and jade token on hand are very little...hmm if only there was something to substitute.."
