The next morning, that was the day of Jinhua’s and doctor Shi’s marriage, King Pingxi’s residence was busier than the previous days. Guests were continuously welcomed to the venue of the ceremony. Official and aristocratic families, wealthy families and well known businessmen with their families and the royal families. All started to come to King Pingxi’s residence one after the other, the marriage of Jinhua who was a prince of the dynasty wasn’t to be missed by those who seeked political connections and the members of the royal families who just wanted to show their faces.
At Yanzhi’s and Xiao Ling’s courtyard, they were leisure with their morning routines not bothered by the liveliness and the atmosphere of the whole residence. But the thing was that, there was a slight change in their daily routine. As early as the first light, Yue, Liu, Chang and the little snake and the family of chipmunks all went out to hunt in the mountain around. Just when Xiao Ling and Yanzhi walked out of their room to the front yard, there were met with a pile of preys and fruits just at the entrance.
"What is all this about?" Xiao Ling asked with curiosity seeing such atmosphere. And Yanzhi at his side looked with no care and was unbothered by such.
"Mistress, this is our tribute to you in order for you not to eat us! You can only eat this!" Chan said with vigor as the others nodded.
"Mistress you see.... snake meet isn’t as delicious at all so you better not eat us!"
Yue also said and the others nodded along. Instantly Xiao Ling’s face turned fury red and blackened, cold air rose from him which sent shivers to their spines. They felt the eerie aura from Xiao Ling which made them all took steps back widening the distance between them and Xiao Ling.
Yanzhi broke out in a hearty laughter his shoulders raising and falling to the beat of his laughter. "Little wife it turns out that you have such caring students, going out of their ways to get you tributes such early morning."
