Chapter 76: Ch. 36 Part 1
Yanzhi was amused by his words. Xiao Ling’s innocent eyes which were with interest in the yangqi that filled the capital city.
"Do you want to see the beheading ground first?" he suddenly asked Xiao Ling after much thought. Xiao Ling turned to him hearing his words. "Can I?" he asked not holding back the excitements in his voice.
Yanzhi chuckled. "You stay here at the inn, I’ll take a walk with your mistress." He said to the disciples. They all nodded as they watched Yanzhi walked away with Xiao Ling. The crowds who were greedily staring at Yanzhi looked with disappointed when Yanzhi left. His beauty was like a terrible miasma causing the people caught up in it an incurable disease called enchantment. But the person causing the disease had no care for the people getting the disease, his only thoughts were making his wife happy and that was the only thing that mattered.
After walking for a couple of minutes, they finally got to the beheading grounds. But to their surprise the place was crowded. Sobs of mourning filled the beheading grounds, people dressed in tattered and filthy clothes crowded the beheading ground as they were filled with resentments and heavy hearts.
"Xiang gong it looks like something is going on here" Xiao Ling who was ecstatic and curious asked.
"En! It seems so." Yanzhi looked around and nodded, he took hold of Xiao Ling’s hand as he led him to find a better place to stand to get a better view. An man with gray white hair and white beard, clothed poorly and covered with dirty making his appearance unrecognizable. His hands bounded with shackles and so were his legs. He stood with a calm demeanor at were the beheading was done with men looking like well trained guards standing behind him, another middle aged man dressed in what seems to be official clothes with what looked to be an imperial verdict in hand and reading the contents aloud.
"Xiang gong looks like someone is going to be beheaded. Should we ask around what’s going on?" Xiao Ling asked.
Looking at his eyes filled with curiosity and questions Yanzhi looked to him with a smile. "Little wife can ask around" he said with a doting smile.
Xiao Ling smiled and nodded before grabbing hold of a random stranger, the lady he grab dressed in coarse clothes turned back sharply looking annoyed. Before she could speak Xiao Ling decisively passed two taels of silvers into her hand. Her angry face relaxed a whole lot seeing the silvers in hand and the expensive clothes he was dressed in "this little brother what do you want to ask?" with a hypocritic smile she asked.
"My husband and I want to ask what’s going on here" Xiao Ling said not very polite nor arrogant.
The lady turned to YanZhi whom Xiao Ling pointed at, she gasped staring at Yanzhi without blinking. Feeling her gaze on him, Yanzhi met with her gaze. She quickly looked away with a blush feeling embarrassed, she couldn’t believe her eyes seeing someone this beautiful and looking very elegant.
