Chapter 246 Strong Enough
"That's true, but now that raising another problem, if the rest of the artifacts choose students to be their wielder, there's no way we're sending them to war right in demon territory," Evelyn spoke.
"You don't have a choice," Sonia spoke as she pushed the door open.
Victoria and Evelyn immediately turned towards her, but stopped when they noticed she was clinging to the wall of the room, her breathing a little ragged.
"The artifacts select the person who would bring forth its power; it doesn't choose based on magic, skill, or fighting abilities. What you have to do now is train the wielder, and I'm going to help," Sonia spoke.
"You're going to help, first help by getting back inside," Evelyn spoke, and Sonia nodded, turned around, and stepped back inside.
"She looks weak, isn't now the best chance to end her?" Victoria spoke.
"What are you saying? Why would we kill her when she willingly brought herself here, and it's been confirmed she's telling the truth?" Evelyn mumbled as she walked back inside the room.
Now the three of them were in front of Sonia, and they could see she was physically weak; the switch earlier had taken a lot out of her. That was the reason it was so strong; any more and Sonia would have died.
"I want to help, I'll also bring the Blood Fangs to help, and we'll need Karin since she has the blood Artifact... You should have realized by now that this isn't a joke. If I wanted to attack Avalon, I would be able to with my artifact"
"I might not be able to conquer Avalon, but I'm sure I would be able to deal devastating damage to your kingdom, but I have no reason to attack Avalon, we're in this fight together against demons... The demons don't see any difference; all they see are humans"
"Have you suddenly become a philosopher, and we don't need help training our students; we can do that just fine," Evelyn replied.
"Also, who told you Avalon is prepared to work with you? We're simply entertaining the idea; you can still be pushed to the curb," Victoria replied.
"No matter what happens, I'll still maintain my standings, and my mission is to eradicate demons from this world, just as you," Sonia spoke, turning to face Roman.
"I have something to ask you, let's say we agree, and then it's time to attack, how would we go about that?" Evelyn asked.
"We'll have to defeat the demon generals, and while they're kept busy, the founder will defeat the Demon Queen," Sonia spoke.
Evelyn and Victoria couldn't hold back their anger. After everything said about how powerful the so-called Demon Queen was, Sonia planned to leave her to Roman alone.
"Tsk!! So that's your big plan for when we invade Vernhall, to leave it to Roman, because he would be able to defeat the Demon Queen, are you crazy?" Victoria asked, her voice loud.
"What about you? Aren't you strong enough to fight her?" Evelyn asked, a smile on her face.
The thought of sending Roman to fight the Demon Queen was so absurd that Evelyn was merely holding herself back; she wanted to punch Sonia in the face, but that would just be low of her.
"Yes, I'm strong... With my artifact, I'm stronger than both of you, but I'm still not strong enough; Roman would be, with training, he would be strong enough. The founder of magic is a genius mage, and his spirit now rests in Roman. He will be strong enough," Sonia spoke, her voice unwavering.
'Well, I'm fucked, I've seen her strength first hand, and I felt the aura radiating off her body by then, I know for a fact I won't be able to land a single hit on her, and now she expects me to get strong enough to beat her'
"I know it might sound absurd to you two, but he will get stronger, if you let him train"
"We're already planning a training of our own. Do you think we were going to send him back to the academy? Both of us have been tasked to oversee his training," Evelyn replied.
"What about the other girl? Her name was Ava, right? Are you going to train her too? You'll definitely need help, and I'll be a good practice for both of you," Sonia spoke, and Victoria's hand went straight to her chin.
Apart from Evelyn, she'd never had another training partner who could keep us with her, and with her current strength, she wasn't sure she alone could stand on equal footing with a demon general if the Demon Queen returned to the world.
With her return, demons would be even stronger, so both of them need to get stronger if they want to stay in the Frontlines when the time comes.
"I've said my part, there's still time before the sun comes up, I'm going to sleep," Sonia spoke and lay down on the bed.
'Training with Sonia, and the Blood Fangs would be a valuable experience since they are used to fighting, but so are Evelyn and Victoria... Not like I have a choice in the matter, I'll just wait and see what the Queen decides'
'Hold on... If Sonia is stronger than Victoria and Evelyn combined, how many points would I gain from sleeping with her? Imagine gaining over 700+ points just from one encounter'
A smile formed on Roman's face as he turned towards Sonia, who was lying on the bed, but there was no way he was going to get her; she hadn't looked in his direction unless she had something to say to him.
Unlike other girls who were already charmed by Roman, she wasn't; she was focused, but Roman liked a challenge, after all the rewards would definitely be worth it.
"What's with that smile on your face? Did you hear what she said? You're going to be strong enough to face the Demon Queen"
"I'm going to try my best," Roman replied.
